  • For making my own Snoring Reducer
I use leather needles and thread (also purchased from Amazon) to sew the bottom one further forward than the top one. For my first trial I used a regular needle and dental floss. To avoid snoring surgery, a device to keep the jaw forward is what the Ear Nose and Throat Otolaryngologist will prescribe for you if you snore: such a device holds your jaw farther forward to keep your tongue from vibrating in your throat. Through the doctor, $300. I tried buying one at CVS for $40 but it went too far back along my molars which made me gag. With these I can trim them so only the front teeth are engaged. To be clear: this product is not designed to stop snoring. You can build a snore-reducing device yourself by sewing the top and bottom together. When you sew together it is trial and error so buy a dozen to experiment with. The pieces you cut off can be used as shims/spacers to also keep your mouth open for more oxygen as you sleep. I am on my third set. My wife is pleased. The first one I built took me four hours. Second one two hours. Third one thirty minutes. This brand works well. You don't need to heat or mold at all. For my first device I bought another brand. All plastic mouth guards will work. I like this one because you can get a two-pack or an eight-pack. ... show more

  • Works!
I ordered mouth guards from two different companies. The DAV by far was better. Instructions were clear. The mouth guard fits perfectly and is quite comfortable. The trick is to let the boiling water cool for a bit and do use a slatted wooden spoon to pick it up out of the water. My other brand said to use a fork and the fork totally misshaped the guard. With the DAV I didn't have a thermometer so I guessed on the water temp after letting it cool from a boil. 15 seconds in the water was perfect - you don't want it to melt. Popped it in my mouth and pushed my around my gums through my skin to make the perfect fit. Took it out and ran it under cold water. I'd rather start with this than pay my dentist $1800 for a digital imprint of my mouth and all the bruhaha that goes along with it $$$$$ Don't know how long it will last - I guess that all depends on how hard one grinds their teeth. Nice carrying case and extra guards too. ... show more

  • Decent guards
After a few attempts I got the guards to mold well enough that they fit comfortably and stay in place. You have to be precise with the water temperature and how long they are heated. They are on the bulky side and I had to trim the bottom ones because they extended too far over the gums.

  • DDS version $300. FIrst retail $10 - failed 3 months. This outfit items last 2 years per gaurd!
So I grind my teeth at night - who knew?. Too late to fix damage done but stopping the loss worth a little fuss. These folks sell item that is easy to mold, easy to wear, and lasts longer than my teeth will - and there are a few of them in each box - one for each family member. This was not the biggest medical issue in my life but taking action without Medicare forms, selling the house, or peddling a wedding ring was damned nice. If you grind, buy one box and review the matter 10-20 years later. I am skeptical about some medical stuff online - but this is safe and no more complex than opening a Kleenix box. ... show more

  • Strange size/painful
So this comes with 2 sizes. What I take as their "regular"and large. I have a horrible issue with grinding and clenching my jaw when I sleep so I wanted to give these a try the price was pretty decent I thought the reviews were pretty decent I'm not a large person I have a normal size mouth and the regular size does not work well for me in fact I had to go back to using my old one because it actually hurt my mouth it molded terrific in the hot water like they're supposed to but it doesn't go back far enough on my mouth it's almost as if it was meant for a child size guard the large is what I'm having to use now and that goes almost to where my back molars are should have been the other one goes only halfway so I wake up and I've got pain around my gum area on the top as well as towards the front just not enough coverage for what I need super small I can't see them really fitting anything other than a teenager possibly or child. ... show more

  • No More Pain!
I was just informed by my dentist that I needed a mouth guard to prevent me from clenching my teeth at night. I would wake up in the morning and my jaw would ache like crazy, so I agreed to them checking it out with my dental insurance. These devices are unbelievably expensive - like $500. Are you kidding me? Of course my insurance refused to cover it. So my dentist told me to try Amazon and not to get one of the cheap ones. I really had no idea what to look for but decided on this brand. The price was reasonable, the directions were simple to follow and low and behold - this gadget was actually was really comfortable! I love it because (after boiling it for a bit) you wait for it to cool, place it in your mouth and it takes an exact impression of your top teeth. I don't mind wearing this at all - I'm serious. And no more sore jaw from teeth clenching. This device is just what the dentist ordered, so to speak 😊 ... show more

  • High hopes, but....
Here's the thing. If you're like me, scrolling through Amazon looking for a night guard, you're reading reviews, and looking for the best value and most effective device. This one is a great price, and comes with everything a lot of these kits come with....EXCEPT really good instructions. The little paper that comes with it is just the bare minimum of what they can get away with, without providing any instructions at all. I watched a few youtube videos, read some instructions for other kits, but the two guards I got out of this one just don't quite work for me. I consider this purchase a waste of money, and I just received the second kit today from another brand. Inside they provide two heavy duty guards, and 4 of the standard ones. They also provide a qr code that takes you to an instructional video. And the little pamphlet that comes with it has indepth instructions on how to use the kit. So while this one may work for some just fine, my personal experience is to say skip over this one, and go to another - one that will provide more than a few guards and a tiny short little insert that just doesn't give you much in the way of how to use it. ... show more
