Description

The lumbar pack that helped start the craze in the 80s, the Tour pack lives on in its modern incarnation as a favorite of hikers and outdoor-minded travelers. With a broad swath of versatile uses, this pack tends to become a cherished possession in every outdoor enthusiast’s gear closet. However, it does not stay there long as it gets used daily as a hiking pack, disc golf bag, messenger bag, office briefcase, carry on travel solution, diaper bag, and whatever you can think of. Built with ultra-durable CORDURA fabric, the Tour lumbar pack will become your outdoor security blanket as it logs hundreds of thousands of miles adventuring with you around the world. Though the design honors the 35+ year history of this waist pack and has not changed much in shape, modern features make this version of the Tour the best yet. Features now include a tuck away waist belt for messenger style carry, removable shoulder strap, traditional front panel bungee, Strapette compatibility (sold separately), interior tablet sleeve, smart phone compatible waist belt pocket, ridged EVA back panel padding with stash pocket, side water bottle holders, hanging inner sanctum pocket, zippered front panel pocket with key clip, bottom compression straps, and a headphone port. We have heard this product used for just about anything. Where will this fanny pack take you? To bring you peace of mind for your backcountry investment, Mountainsmith offers a lifetime warranty on their products. If you have had a Tour pack in your lifetime, you already know how useful it can be. If not, what are you waiting for?

  • Extremely Versatile Pack
Size: Large Color: Moss Green
Having been a part-time "outfitter," "outdoor school instructor," and "sales specialist" for over 5 years for outdoor equipment giant REI, I can say this stacks up with the best. Company is def underrated. My son has rocked a Mountainsmith internal frame backpack since 2004. My full-time job is a Field Conservationist - chainsaws, heavy equipment, an environment unkind to gear yet, after 2 years, my Takeout lunch cooler is still going strong long after others have gone to the landfill. The Tour Pack is loaded with great features, perfect for long day hikes or when I need a supplemental pack for when I head deep into the backcountry, set up camp, then explore in different directions for the day. Can't go wrong with this pack! ... show more

One of the water bottle draw strings broke before I even took it out of the house

  • Perfect. Fits CamelBak Milspec Antidote 100oz reservoir.
Size: Large Color: Moss Green
Exactly what I had hoped for. Fits a 100oz CamelBak Antidote Milspec bladder pretty well.

  • Minor fail after only two short hikes.
Not a bad pack but the elastic that holds the left side water bottle came loose after only two hikes. I wasn't using large bottles, only 12 ounce Gatorade bottles. Now I have only elastic on one side of the bottle holder. It is not worth the shipping charges to return it. It isn't mission-critical and I can probably fix this myself but I consider this a sign of cheap construction techniques. ... show more

  • quality but...
It is a really quality bag. It is pretty big, but if you load it more than half full it is uncomfortable, sagging down your butt and hurting your guts. Half loaded or less was very comfortable, but then why am I lugging extra empty pack weight. I wish I would have just bought a smaller one.

  • Sags down with any kind of weight, even when cinched up.
This bag kept drooping off my back...I had EVERY strap cinched up as tight as it would go!! I have a size 34 waist. When I had it loaded up for a day hike it sagged really badly! To get it to stay up I to lift up my shirt and put the strap on my skin (it would slide down my nylon shirt) ..and then cinch the bag as if I was trying to pinch myself in half! I started unloading stuff...when it was half emptied out it felt better...it felt really great when it was almost completely empty! ... show more

  • Great supplemental item when not using day pack
Used item for 8 day hikes on Appalachian Trail in Virginia. Averaging 15 miles per trail. This item allowed for sufficient hydration (min 2L), snacks, first aid, iphone, rain jacket. the shoulder harness is required to offer stability. I believe this item could be better if a 3 way backback style harness was available. ... show more
