Being able to program the time that the feed is dispensed is great. The plastic will not rust like a metal feeder will. But it is not squirrel/racoon proof. I have had the Elite II model in the field for 1-1/2 years so far. They left it alone for the longest time but once they found out that they could chew a hole in the side, game over. Other than this, this is a great feeder. My only recommendation is if you buy one, squirrel/racoon proof it. It will save you some spoiled corn due to rain. ... show more

I've had this feeder at the back of my property for 2 years. I have it set to two feedings every day. I purchased the battery and solar pannel at the same time. I stop by once a month to fill it and it is still working flawlessly! I did have to attach some mesh around the bottom to keep the squirrels from destroying it though. ... show more

I use this to feed my chickens and it’s AMAZING. I’m in Florida so I’m also impressed that our intense sun, heat, and storms have not seems to phase it. (If you are considering this for chickens makes sure to use pellet feed and not crumbles) ONE CAVEAT - battery and battery charger are sold separately! Not really an issue but I didn’t realize that (and charger is separate from battery as well) ... show more

    • Horrible Customer Service for Defective Part Received

I purchased two of these feeders. One box looked fine, had all the parts and seems to be working fine. The other arrived in a beat up box with excess tape on it. It appeared to be a return. Long story short, that one has a bad motor assembly. I'm trying to get Moultrie to do the right thing and get one in the mail to me so I can use this soon, during prime bow season. I have been on hold for extended periods, transferred to the wrong department, hung up on and have waited hours for my call back never to receive it. They tell me I need to send them the bad motor BEFORE they will send me a working one. I might not care except that this is a time-sensitive product that I spent hundreds of dollars on and I can't get back to hunting camp to retrieve it for at least a couple of weeks. All I want is a working unit in the mail ASAP, so I get it in time for hunting season. Now they recommend I return the whole unit and get a new one. How does that help? Super inconvenient, considering the size and the time invested in assembly and setup. All I need is the little motor assembly! I can only imagine if I packaged it all up that someone else would end up receiving that beat up box with missing pieces and a faulty motor. You have failed me, Moultrie. Never again. What a bad, bad experience this has been. Change your policies, trust your customers and start doing the right thing. Please! ... show more
