I think I'd give this more of a 4.5 stars. Install was easy enough and using the remote is great. My main issue with this item is that I had no idea if the blinds were charged or not. I wanted to try to charge it before I installed it, as I was using this for a window above my stairs. This required a ladder and I didn't want to install the blinds if they were broken. When I first tried the remote, the blinds didn't move. I assumed it was the battery, so I tried to plug it in to an old cell phone charger. Usually that would be enough juice for the blinds to move but nothing happened. I waited for 30 minutes, still nothing. So I tried a different charger, waited 30 more minutes, still nothing. I then just left it for 3 hours and came back to it and it was working. It'd be nice if there was a blinking light to indicate charging or anything really. After testing that it worked, install as a cinch. The solar panel was easy to place on the window and I haven't had to try to charge it or do anything with it for months. Does a great job keeping the sun out and the remote is simple, but responsive. So overall works great, just wish I didn't have to waste so much time figuring out if it worked or not! ... show more

Oh what a difference it makes with blocking heat and light. We had slate blinds before. It is so convenient I did purchase the additional remote that would control up to 30 blinds. I have not purchased the Alexa assist device yet so can’t speak on that yet. But the remote is very convenient and the blinds keep the house cooler.     • Works, with some effort
I have a set of windows that runs from the floor to the ceiling covering 2 floors. It has an ugly curtain that I wanted to get rid of, but the afternoon sun is an issue. I ordered 2 of these, one worked and the other didn't so I got a replacement. It didn't either. Turns out I just needed to charge them, but there was nothing in the instructions to tell you what the flashing orange light meant. So I put the new one directly in the sun and it worked perfectly. I setup the remotes for both and I bought a hub so I can use the smart app. You do not need to buy the one they sell, any hub that supports Tuya and radio frequency devices will work. Add the hub to the Tuya app, then do the sync on the blinds to add it to the hub. I setup routines for morning, afternoon and cloudy days. I bought 2 more for my upper windows. ... show more

    • Measure Twice Order Once

When looking for a blind to fit our staircase that would not need to be touched, this fit the bill perfectly. I would recommend to measure your window twice to confirm and then purchase 1/4" less than what you measure for the best fit. Package wise it was perfectly packed, I would recommend plugging this in and pre charging it before hanging as it needs a USB C charger to allow the motor to be functional otherwise its a pretty straightforward process. I will say the remote could be nicer, but they do have options to upgrade later if you choose more blinds (up to 15 vs just one) but for less than $90 it is a the perfect fit for me. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Once, I figured out how to install this it was easy. I do love the motorized blind as it looks great and now I can open my blind all the way. It truly is a blackout blind just a little light from the edges. The size I got fit good. As far as durability, it seems durable. My reason for 4 stars is the “ Valance” was cracked in the corner and there is a pin hole in the blind. I was not going to exchange it because I already have it installed and of course didn’t notice the pin hole until I was able to actually use it. The cracked valance I knew before I installed it but I figured no one is going to touch it once it was up and it still did its job and you can’t see it from a far. I want to get some more of these actually! It is a little slow going up and down but still worth having. ... show more

Full west facing house with views we didn't want to block...what to do when you don't want full window coverings for only a few hours of afternoon sun every day? Order these! Ordered 8 total along with the smart hub for Alexa. Programmed to go down automatically in the heat of the day and go up a few minutes before sunset. Probably need 2 hubs because one random blind among the group chooses not to respond each day (but still works with the remote), but the hub is probably too far/not strong enough to serve all 8 blinds in 2 different rooms. Overall very happy, makes a huge difference on the heat and UV. Have had them a few weeks now. ... show more
