  • GPS motors are very sensitive to voltage
Size: 24V Style: 82-lb HD + Universal Sonar Pattern Name: MotorGuide Tour
Have been using it for almost a year, at first was having intermittent problems with anchor lock not working properly. Tried calibrations multiple times with no change. Finally figured out that it was low voltage concern. These new GPS trolling motors have to have clean steady voltage at all times or they will go haywire. My problem was at quick connect in bow of boat that worked fine with old regular motor. Had new batteries so I started checking wiring and found that I had bad voltage drop through plug. Motor would work fine in manual mode, would complete calibrations, etc. Put it in anchor mode and it would go crazy. If you're planning on up grading to these new GPS motors you must have good batteries, good wiring, good clean voltage for them to work properly. I just straight wired it at bow and this thing works like a dream since. Best motor I have ever had, been using trolling motors for decades. That said with more features there is more to go wrong. There are a few known issues out there but with a quick search online you can figure most out quickly. What I like about tour pro is it's cable steer with GPS. With most all the other models if you have a electronic fault it's down. With tour pro you still having trolling motor even if the GPS or power steering etc. goes out. Again for the price hard to beat if you're in the market for one. Once you use one you won't go back. ... show more

  • Cable is a pain!
Size: 24V Style: 82-lb HD + Universal Sonar Pattern Name: MotorGuide Tour
I love the trolling motor it self, and the spot lock is awesome. I mounted it on my Bass Cat and where the foot control sits in the cut out on the deck is really to close to the transmission motor on the top of the trolling motor so I’m having some trouble with smooth control because the cables seem to bind up. I twisted the head on the motor down and it actually worked fine today, so we’ll see what the future holds! ... show more

  • Stunned how disastrous this has been.
Size: 24V Style: 82-lb Thrust Pattern Name: MotorGuide Tour
I bought this as a back up to an Ultrex that was showing signs of age. I assembled it at home and carried it with me as a spare while travelling to a fishing camp in Canada. I mounted it to my boat after having problems with my Ultrex. It was a series of problems, some fixable with effort, some not. It does not shut off when stowed and the anchor feature will not work right no matter how many times I calibrate it or how many YouTube videos I search for information. I had to remove the head cover and reposition the cable steering gear just to have the propulsion moving forward with the pedal in the level position. That can't be operator error. Not happy, not happy at all. I'm trying to fix this at the camp I'm paying to fish at and instead I'm trying to make this thing work. Sounds like from what I've read if you get a bad one they tell you to take it in. Buy this with eyes open and don't buy it just before an expensive trip. ... show more

  • Works perfectly after a little help from YouTube.

Trolling motor works flawlessly. It did require a little help from YouTube videos to get anchor mode working properly. A few extra calibrations and steps not mentioned in the book.

  • Sum it up

Love it until this happened use it twice and then had to put it in the shop because it would not power on. For two highly named company's that been around for years, I figured they have it fixed the problems by now.
