Description

These MotorGuide Mounting Isolators absorb shocks to help protect electronics and ensure the most reliable performance. These Mounting Isolators provide an effective cushion and absorb vibration and shocks so the electronics are not subjected to that potentially damaging energy. These durable Mounting Isolators include long, corrosion-resistant bolts. This is a set of four Mounting Isolators. MotorGuide has been dedicated to engineering and manufacturing innovative trolling motors and accessories for over 50 years. Proudly setting the standard for the most accurate PinPoint® GPS system and quietest motors, MotorGuide provides anglers with precise propulsion for superior boat control. MotorGuide factory isolators offer a quick and simple way to mount a trolling motor or other marine electronics when you have limited access. Each rubber isolator has a molded-in nut inside the small end, that when tightened up against the underside of the deck by the stainless steel bolt forms a rubber mushroom shape that hold the mount in place. The rubber absorbs shock and limits vibration, providing a solid installation-- without having to get under the deck or behind the console. Each kit comes with four stainless steel bolts and four rubber isolators, along with mounting instructions for easy installation.

  • Very good fast mounts, just be aware of limited life...order a second set for spare.
These are actually very nice mounts and easy to use. I highly recommend, however anyone ordering should order a second set as a spare. The very design of these will not last forever. In fact, my first set of these just failed on the water. Glad I had a second set onhand on the boat and a phillips screwdriver in the boat toolbox. Took 15 minutes to replace with a new set on the water. Now for the problem...the design of the mounts are to isolate shock and torque from the mount holes through the fiberglass boat deck. They truly do the job for this....no deck cracking what so ever after three full years of fairly hard use. However, this advantage comes at a price. The mounts are rubber and will eventually tear through/separate from the brass threaded tightening sleeve. When this happens, the mounts will have no grip and pull straight out. Fortunately, my MG gator mount has four of these, and motor torque only tore thru the 2 isolators on one side of the mount. When I replaced, I did all four of the isolators....glad I did, as the other two were about to fail as well. When the two did let loose, the mount looked as if it was going to fly off the boat, but the other two held. Lesson learned....although you're not supposed to have to get access below the deck to use these mounts, I WILL be adding a washer and nylon lock nuts to make sure the next time they fail, the mount doesn't try to jump off the deck:) My heart can't take that anymore! Excellent mounts though, I'm back here to order two more sets for spares! ... show more

  • Instructions not included
The one issue with this product is there's no instructions included to guide the instalation particularly on how tight they should be. I did find the instructions buried deep on Motorguide's website as followed. 3. Drill the mounting holes with a 7 mm (1/4 in.) diameter drill bit. Remove any debris. 4. Redrill each mounting hole with a 13 mm (1/2 in.) diameter drill bit. IMPORTANT: Countersink the holes on fiberglass boats to prevent cracking. 5. Insert the rubber mounting isolators into the drilled holes. Position the isolators in line with the mount base with the wider side toward the outside of the mount bracket. 6. Place the mount bracket on the isolators and align the holes. Install the two long screws into the front mounting holes and the two short screws into the rear mounting holes. Tighten all of the mounting screws securely with a Phillips screwdriver. Do not tighten the mounting screws with an electric driver. IMPORTANT: The bracket must lay flush against the isolators before being bolted to the deck or the mount will bind, making it difficult or impossible to unlatch. 7. When the bracket is installed, it should fasten securely and evenly with the latch pins and release with a light, quick, pull of the rope handle. I did use a cordless impact only to run the screws because they are long but only to the point where the rubber begins to flare outwards then used a phillips screw driver to finish the tightness. One other problem I had was a couple of the drilled holes in the fiberglass deck over time began to enlarge as I assume when the rubber broke and the screws wore on the side of the mounting holes therfore when tightened the screw on a new rubber isolator it would pull through loosing it's grip to secure the isolators underneath the deck. I purchased SS washers for each new isolator that fit the OD of the isolators. Fortunately I was able to access each isolator on the underside of the deck. I had a person hold the washer up against the deck while I tighten the screws. I now feel confident this approach will keep the trolling motor mount very secure. I've been out on the water with some rough wave action and the mount is still very secure. I need to periodically check the screws for tightness. I do realize over time the rubber will get old and fail. It's part of boat ownership. ... show more

So far so good. Was a little skeptical at first after reading a review of them ripping out due to not having enough fiberglass to grip. Once i drilled into my hull, i only had a depth of maybe a 1/4 to 1/2 an inch of fiberglass for these to grip on to, so without any other options, I proceeded with insallation. Insallation was super easy, and just so you know, you have to screw down on these a lot..... a lot. I seriously thought the screw was stripped, so backed it out and the screwed it in while holding it. Nope, just takes a lot of turns of the Ole screw driver if there isn't much to grip. It will tighten to where you cant turn anymore, just keep going till you get there. The motor held fine during trasport. I then moved boat to 5mph with gas motor and my wireless bow mount as a rudder just to see the torque. It worked great. I ordered another set to keep on boat just in case one does pop out. Been out so far 6 times and still holding strong. In the instructions it informs you to tighten after your first trip. I just tighten after or before every trip just incase. And if I have room, I just transport bow mount motor in truck or boat just to keep pressure off of mounts. defiantly worth the money and a great option if you have no water to get under bow. ... show more

  • Worked great!
I had to install a new trolling motor on my aluminum boat. Access to the underside of the deck was non-existent. These inserts worked extremely well and hold the TM bracket securely in place. You will need a 1.2" drill bit for the inserts to fit.

  • Good Quality Product
Makes mounting a trolling motor much easier than trying to attach nuts from the underside of the deck. They provide a nice cushion for trolling motors and electronic. When installed properly the trolling motor was very solid sturdy.
