For a "kayak specific" trolling motor why do you have to press down on the foot pedal to engage or drop down the motor? No one can do that on their kayak. Otherwise the motor is awesome and fun to use.

I wish I bought it sooner, I can go 5mph fully rigged. I have pulled 6 friends that didn’t have one out on the lake so they didn’t have to paddle (3mph) go buy it.

When purchasing the base model of the xi3, I was under the impression it features spot-lock w/o GPS. Come to find out after purchasing that I need to spend an additional $500 to install this feature. The description of the base model is extremely deceptive, using “available” to describe features it does not include. It does not explicitly state what is included. I will keep the motor for now to see if it still performs; however, for $750 I thought I would atleast be able to hold myself in place on the water. Sadly I will just have to save up for this feature in the future, or not at all (not made of money). ... show more
