This was a DIY project. Not for the faint of heart. I am over 66 yrs old and with a bad back at 265lbs. I was able to pull the dash on a 2012 Ford Fusion and replace the sensor. It took me over 12 hours (Over two days in very hot weather) But I got it done. Took many breaks and lots of water. I saved a small fortune. Worked for my 06 Zephyr. Plug sensor to harness behind glove box. No need to remove dash. Use connector 3 and 4 on the green plug. Start counting wires from top left. I used glue gun to keep it all together. Ac works .

The media could not be loaded. For my 2009 Ford Fusion, I relocated this sensor. It was very quick and easy to do. Simpler than any other fix I found online. Now it works perfectly. Look for my YouTube video "2009 Ford Fusion easy AC evaporator temperature sensor relocation fix" and read the notes.

My husbands 2007 Ford Fusion 4 cyl. air conditioning started blowing hot air a few weeks ago. After taking it to a mechanic we were told the evaporating temperature sensor was reading -40 volts and in order to repair it the cost would be $580, with $545 of that being labor. I was furious. I began researching the issue and found that this is a very common problem in 2006-2008 Ford Fusions and the cost of labor is so high because it requires removal of the entire dash, weather stripping, and center console. I found a very helpful YouTube DIY video over how to replace this part and attempted this myself. It took me two and a half hours total, but the Fusion now has working A/C, and I saved myself nearly $600. Thank you SO much for making this part available to the public.
