When I opened the package, it was a little brighter than I remembered., in a good way. When I tried it on, it actually fit. It’s a beautiful fabric, not at all cheap or thin. It’s very soft and has a rich, velvety feel. I haven’t worn it anywhere yet, so I cannot speak to the warmth, durability or breathability. I don’t notice any smell. Love the fabric! It doesn't wrinkle and it feels soft on my skin. Amazon suggested I get an XL, but it's too big for me. I ordered the large and that fits much better! No gaping under the arms, fits tight across the chest, and falls nicely. It also has pockets, which is a bonus! I'm 5'2" and the dress just hits the floor.
