  • RECOMMENDED USE: Larger area rugs, over 5x8, with latex backing provide the best non-slip functionality. For added non-slip grip to scatters, runners, and other smaller area rug sizes under 5x8, it is recommended to use rug tape or non-slip corner tabs to help prevent slipping and sliding in high traffic spaces.
  • CUSTOMIZABLE SIZING: Simply score the surface and trim your rug pad with scissors to fit any area rug size or shape. For the 3/8 and 1/2" thick rug pad options, it is recommended to trim the pad 2 short of your area rugs perimeter. For the 1/4" thick rug pad option, it is recommended to trim the pad 1 to 2 short of your area rugs perimeter.
  • FLOORING TYPES: For carpet, simply place the rug pad under your rug with the felt side down. For hard surface flooring, place the rug pad under your rug with the non-slip latex rubber side facing down.

This is my go to rug pad brand. The 3/8” is great though I recommend to go as thick as you can… the extra padding on top of my ceramic flooring really makes a difference in comfort. When I find a good product I like to share it. Im not to impressed with the 1/4 inch pad but the half inch pad is great. It really makes a nice rug feel luxurious. I also believe that the pads are made in the USA.

There are so many options for rug pads it was hard to decide. I chose this one being that it's a reputable brand. It is functional. Cutting it to fit my rug was easy. From what I've read it's best to get a quarter inch pad for a high traffic area and I was concerned that it wouldn't make much of a difference in how it feels walking on it but it's actually really great. There's definitely an improvement and the rug does not shift around. The only issue was it had a really bad odor. It says it's made of recycled materials. I'm not sure if that's the cause. My dogs were extremely interested in it and I knew if I turned my back it would get marked. Before I put the rug on it, I made a jar of carpet deodorizer with baking soda and cinnamon essential oil because that tends to deter them from marking things. I let the pad air out a bit before covering it with the rug and then I sprinkled that on and left it for a while and vacuumed it and the odor seemed to dissipate. I, probably like many others, did not want to pay the outrageous cost of the one that comes directly from Ruggable. I'll spend a little time trimming by hand to save that amount of money. Spoilers: It was worth it. The padding is excellent for taking pressure off your ankles, knees, and hips. It keeps the rug from moving even in high traffic areas. I did notice a smell, but it wasn't obnoxious or unpleasant. Not sure what those reviewers were smelling. Overall, I'm happy with this purchase. This is awesome! The floor side doesn’t slip on my tile and the rug side sticks almost like Velcro! Using this with a ruggable rug. No complaints. Feels great too, nice and thick.
