Amazing set for the price to start my collection of drawing pens! The 005 and 01 needed a few scribbles to make the ink flow but otherwise everything worked and did its job, no leaking or wandering drops of ink. The downside: While the set is great to draw, it so far has not played well with my alcohol markers. Once you get going the pen ink starts to blend into the marker and will even infect the felt tip if you aren't careful enough. If you use markers or any alcohol based medium, make sure you tread carefully around your outline. ... show more

These pens write in an absolute black line. Wide range of widths and one brush. The point feels right against the paper. I bought these because I wanted sharp lines for writing and drawing that won’t fade over time. I have given two additional sets as gifts.

I drew you a picture. I did a little freehand with the .20 and then some outline with the .48. As I was sketching out the guide on the right, I didn’t really notice much difference in the sizes until about .35, and then it was more noticeable with the .40. I don’t know what people normally use these kinds of pens for, so perhaps the size difference at the small end really is a big deal. I bought these to play with ink more, so I’m not an expert. In any case, I like that I got a nice amount of pen for a low price, even if the wide assortment of sizes means little to me. They all work. I can draw with them. That’s all I’m really asking for. The one thing I’ll say—and maybe this also has to do with this particular paper—is that the ink stays wet a bit longer than I expected. I tried to draw something else and got it all smudgy with my hand. These do say they’re waterproof. No clue how they might hold up to markers. This paper is meant to be bleed-proof, but a test on regular paper didn’t bleed either. ... show more

I love this set, and I take it everywhere. It's good for quick sketches, don't romanticize the quality tho. It works and it's worth what you're paying for. Don't go and compare it to more expensive brands with archival quality to them.
