The screws are also surprisingly well painted and I'm a horror when it comes to installing slotted screws. The paint stood up fine to me. I had a problem with the actual switch set back farther than I wanted, due to these being deeper than the prior plate. I tried loosening the screws on the receptacle, but that didn't seem to do much. Wish we could have used these - they seem really well made and they look very good, except that they're a cold, bright white ... maybe suitable in a bathroom or kitchen with very white fixtures or accessories, but on the walls in the rest of the house they were glaringly white. Had to return.
