  • Amazing! Please see my pictures.
Every week when I run my shopping errands, I stop in Starbucks. I get a Venti Green Tea Frappucino with soy milk and whip cream. It gives me a pick me up and it is what I look forward to that day. I have been trying to make store drinks for years. I even buy the premade ones and they do not even taste the same. I read the reviews for this and all of them seemed convincing. I liked that I am able to do the subscribe and save but just received my monthly order so opted to buy it at full price with a 15% off special offer they had at the time. The night before I bought some Silk soy milk. I wanted to get the light but they were sold out so I picked up the regular. I also picked up a fresh whip cream. I then waited for the package to arrive the next day. When you open it you will immediately notice there is a lot and it does not seal. It would be really nice to have a resalable bag with this much mixture. The bag does not stand up straight so keep that in mind when you do store/seal it. I read the back but decided to make mine trial and error. I added some soy milk, about a cup and a whole set of ice from an ice tray. I then added 4 scoops of the powder; please see my picture to see the size of my scoop. At first it did not have enough taste so I added more, the 4 scoops total. I added it all to my blender and it blended perfectly! I poured it in a Venti size cup and was AMAZED that it tasted just like Starbucks! This was my first try. I even took pictures so you can see what it looks like. I made another one after dinner, a smaller one, and it turned out just as great! I am glad I read the reviews but really hope my pictures help you so you know what you are getting and what the final product looks like. I am so happy I found this and will be buying more. With summer just hitting it will be handy to know I can make my own cooled drinks and not have to get in the car and pay several bucks for something I can now make at home. Give it a try, it is worth it! ... show more

  • Delicious, easy to froth, healthy drink.
A friend ordered this drink and allowed me to taste it. It is rich and frothy, creamy and delicious! We asked the chef if he would share the recipe and he brought out the bag to show us. I looked it up and was happy to find it on Amazon! The bag is huge, and will last a very long time. No need to add anything. I mix it with coconut milk and it is perfect!! No special tools needed as a stirring with a fork makes it foamy. I have been enjoying this Matcha drink for weeks now and plan to make this a pantry staple. ... show more

  • Match Green Tea Latte: Delicious, easy, and a good value.
If you're looking to replicate that Starbucks flavour, in my opinion, keep looking. While this matcha is entirely delightful, smooth, and just gosh darn tasty, it's a bit different than the Starbucks sort. Personally, I prefer this, though I'm likely a little biased. I have only ever prepared it hot so far. I use about half the powder as recommended for the iced recipe (given hot does not have ice melting into and diluting it), a little more or less depending on the sweetness I want. It stirs in well to boiling water (the variety I bought from my grocery store before this was a bit of a battle to keep it all from separating slightly) and is flavourful enough that way I have yet to even consider using milk. I'm sure one day I'll try it cold with oat or rice milk, and I'm sure it will be delicious, because it's some gosh darn good powder. My package had been produced within the last four months and is good for another year or two (can't remember, but it's more than enough time); it offers both the manufacture and expiration dates. For those concerned about storage given it does not possess a ziploc closure, when I first received mine I simply emptied it into a tupperware and tossed in an old applesauce container for scooping. Does the trick for me. Absolutely ace product and will be buying again and again as I need. ... show more

  • Tastes great
Unfortunately it’s not legitimate matcha. Real matcha won’t come with added sugars, and would be little to no calories since it’s normally a tea. But honestly if it tastes good then why not lol. Just wish it didn’t have so many calories for one scoop

  • Very good, very easy treat
I looove green tea, and I drink normal (non-sweetened) tea every day. However, once in a while I crave a sweet, hot drink and this stuff really hits the spot, especially after a day of skiing or hiking. I also like that it is easy - all that is required is hot water, with no blending or milk required. Which means I can make it at any time with very little thought. The taste is smooth and sweet, like a green tea version of hot chocolate. It doesn't get bitter if you add too much, though the sweetness can get overpowering if you do that. I imagine this stuff would make a great extra flavoring in smoothies or ice cream, but I've never done that myself. It's not really all that healthy, but that's not why I am drinking it. It's just delicious! ... show more

  • Delicious sweet treat, confusing directions
Delicious. It's marketed as a frappe and the packaging shows it topped with whipped cream, so I think it's unfair to be overly critical that it's not as healthy as a matcha drink could or should be. Of greater concern is the confusing directions. To make a 16oz drink they recommend using 2 scoops of powder but they provide no scoop. In parentheses they indicate that 2 scoops is 8 Tbsp. So their 'scoop' is 1/4 cup and they recommend 1/2 cup of powder per 16 oz drink. At that ratio I find it unbearably sweet. Half that (4 Tbsp) or 1/4 cup is about right and you might want to try as little as 3 Tbsp as another reviewer recommends. Also confusing is the nutrition information. They use a serving size of 38g which is 170 calories. 38g is 1/35th of the 3lb bag but how many scoops or Tbsp is that? I weighed it and found 1/4 cup was 44g. which works out to 11g/Tbsp or 50 calories per tablespoon. I would recommend 4 Tbsp per 16oz serving (or 3 Tbsp for less sweet). That would make a 16oz drink of about 260 calories including skim milk. If you like soy milk it tastes very good as an alternative. With the sweeter taste you might also cut back on powder mix even further (3 1/2 Tbsp) and get a similar taste with just a few more calories. ... show more
