I was getting a P0019 cam/crank correlation CEL on my 2013 Jeep Wrangler 3.6. My timing chains were “elongated”. The previous owner(s) seemed to have missed a “few” oil changes as there was a fair amount of sludge inside the engine. Fortunately I didn’t pay too much for the Jeep. This kit was exactly what I needed. The quality seems to be very good. Installation for this DIY’er wasn’t too bad but I do have a lift in my garage. To replace the primary and oil pump chains the oil pan does need to be removed. If you’re only replacing the secondary chains the pan does not need to be removed (not sure why you wouldn’t want to replace them all). I did not use the provided RTV as I wasn’t familiar with it. I’m sure it would have been fine to use but I used permatex ultra grey which I’m more familiar with. I bought a timing cover gasket kit from the auto parts store. It was good but didn’t come with one small round o-ring I needed. Thankfully I didn’t throw away the old one and was able to reuse it. I carefully followed the steps in the service manual and took my time. Overall the job wasn’t too bad. Took me a couple of days but I don’t work too fast. I also had some sludge to clean up and I replaced the oil pump too. I learned by happenstance that mineral spirits does wonders for removing sludge. I only discovered this because I noticed a gallon of it in my garage when I was thinking about what I could use. The engine is now very quiet whereas before it was a little noisy upon startup.
