We just opened this yesterday to see what parts would be needed for the installation. Everything was very well packaged, but I noticed that when we opened the plastic bag, the unit was in was wet! It looks like someone else used it and then decided to return it. I paid for a new unit!! Unfortunately, my husband insisted on going ahead with installing it on Sunday instead of sending it back!! If all goes well tomorrow, I will reevaluate my review. Why was it wet??? I truly am upset since this is an early Christmas present for my son and his family! UPDATE: Oct12, 2023- It works great! So far no problems. Though if you run the water too fast it turns cold! Guess you don't need high pressure when filling tub, but a nice shower has lots of hot water with pressure...unfortunately, this is just OK for showers. ... show more

My five-star rating could change as this unit has only been up and running for a week. It was on sale for an irresistible price so I took a chance. It is rated higher than others at its non-sale price point, but it lacked the number of feedbacks that I would normally like to see. I eliminate dumb 1 and two star ratings but still pay attention to them. At 4.3 with no issues that seemed to be a roadblock for me, it was worth a try. I live alone so 3.6 gpm is more than enough flow rate, and 80,000 btu is plenty. Even two people could be using hot water simultaneously provided those outlets are low flow imho. It responds fast for my plumbing distances and stays on point with no temperature waffling...yet. My slight lack of confidence is based on the age old "you get what you pay for" mantra, but sometimes you get a gem. Other than awkward grammar at times, the instructions were pretty clear. MAKE SURE you have a gas line that matches or exceeds the btu rating of the unit. That was not clear in the instructions ... show more

This states a flow rate of 4.5 gpm but only makes 2.4 gpm. It will run sink faucet fine but can't shower or fill A tub. I don't recommend this product at all. And Amazon customer service is an impotant waste of time. The company is failing big time and I am severely limiting my buying from them.

The device appears to be performing as expected so far, especially in consideration of the fact that it's a bit underpowered for the size of the house and summer requirements are much less demanding than those of the winter. The system is adequate for my needs, thus far.
