I have not installed the flag and pole yet so I cannot attest to the durability of either. So far I've broken three brackets and two poles and had 5 flags ripped to shreds in the last five years since I've flown one where I live now, so we shall see👀👍. Update, after 5 weeks of hanging outside in the weather the flag is fine, the pole is fine but the swivels that hold the flag have worn thru and broken already!! The pole comes in several sections which need to be screwed together to make a 7ft pole. The material is stainless steel, but as many have stated it is very thin and the pipe will not withstand the heavy load when a 3x 5 embroidered US flag is attached. It would be best if you use a heavier weight flag to have the gravity ring adjuster work to keep the flag untangled. By the way, the rings need some light oil like used for sewing machine or armory. I also replaced the plastic adjustment bolts with M6-1.0 1/2 stainless steel hex-key bolts, this in order to have a stronger attachment and less a material sticking out where the flag could still catch something while moving. The trick we used and which makes this pole very sturdy and almost unbreakable is to insert in the stainless steel pole a 1/2 inch sprinkler pipe. Yes, a sprinkler pipe is flexible and can break. However, in the combination of using the outer shelf of the pole and being flexible inside it makes this pole very strong and still keeps it light in weight. In addition, we inserted Gorilla Glue with water spray on top of the sprinkler pipe as we pushed it inside the Stainless steel flag pole and that bonded even more and gave additional strength. If you use the Gorilla glue be prepared to clean up the foam bubbles that maybe come out at the screw-together sections. We ended up with this method with a very nice flag pole which is heavy duty and fits perfect in size at the side of our house entrance. All good things come to an end. I've had this pile up for about 2 years. It has without a doubt done it's job. Of course I have to replace it but with the price point and the time frame I've had it. I don't mind at all.

I wanted a flag pole that would work in the wind and not tangle the flag. This one does not spin easily enough and sometimes gets tangled. We had a wind event and the plastic ring broke. The other clip worked it way off too. I found the flag on the ground. I suppose, once one end came loose it kept flapping and broke the plastic ring. Overall I am happy with the flag pole which held on and did not break. I would appreciate it if the plastic ring could be replaced. ... show more
