A precision measuring instrument thrown in a box with a tub of Goop with no internal packing material? Not cool. Mitutoyo micrometers are always reliable. These are not the most expensive, but still cost almost $100. The Mitutoyo packaging was intact, but I have no idea how much the impact of the tub of Goop slamming against the box may have had on the micrometers as far as long term accuracy and consistency. ... show more

This is a very nice and high quality micrometer. It has consistent and repeatable readings and measures at .0001 inch intervals with the Vernier scale.
