  • Stunned,

The media could not be loaded. Trust me- I was a little hesitant of buying this Violin…. Because of the reviews, but hell it’s a great violin! It’s affordable for beginners, and it is totally worth the money for people who looking to try out something new. In my opinion there’s really no need to replace strings or get a new bow. The rosin isn’t horrible but it’s not best but it most certainly works. The strings are fine- they aren’t professional but they work really good for an 100 dollar violin. I’d say the only problem I have with the violin itself is the fact that the pegs loosen after a minute or two. Which like I said is completely normal for a new violin. Overall I’d give it a 5 stars, the price is affordable, and it doesn’t feel cheap. :) ... show more

  • You can actually get it to stay in tune.
Color: black
My main concern with getting a cheap violin was tuning, and I did struggle at first getting the pegs to stick. I took 3 steps and found while the strings would stay in tune relative to each other, they were each consistently a half-step flat. No amount of soaping, sanding, and pressing would make them stay at A440. 1. make sure the strings are flush to the wall where the peg meets the pegbox. 2. gently sand the pegs and treat with peg paste at the contact points 3. IMPORTANT - The wood is hydroscopic, it swells with humidity. In a dry climate, get an instrument case humidifier (or just a damp sponge) and put it in your case for 24 hours. Took it to a pro, no dice. Bad holes! Oh well, returned and trying again. ... show more

  • perfect if you don't mind spending an extra $30
Color: black
Bought this violin so as to not disturb others while playing. It is not silent by no means but way quieter than an acoustic violin. The bow was tight from the moment I got it. Even though the hairs were tight there were several that were lose. The rosin is very very dusty. It had a cracked peg which broke when I restrung it. I never used the strings it came with...so I don't know how they sound. The items I replaced: bow, strings, rosin, pegs...minus the bow everything else was an additional $30. oh and I had my own headphones. It plays great for what any beginner to mid level players could ask for. I have hooked it up to a multi-effect guitar pedal (zoom g1x four) and wow this thing can sing! A friend of mine picked it up and started playing Schindler list with some reverb and it sounded pretty close to a classic violin in a concert hall. I would buy it again for a beginner to practice and not cause the dogs to howl. With the ability add pedals it can keep someone happy for a few years. ... show more

  • It’s junk!
I did not have super high expectations for this, as it is a very low cost violin but I could not even get it to tune. The strings repeatedly broke, the pegs do not stay tight, and the bridge is not secure. This was going to be a fun thing for my daughter to try as she already plays an acoustic violin, but it is not even playable. Don’t waste your money! ... show more

  • Really cool
Color: blue
Great instrument for the money. Bridge included is cut wrong and strings are crappy. Replaced both for under $20. Makes a great practice instrument and sounds cool amplified. My 13 yo LOVES it

  • Good product, but bad bridge
Color: new style black
CONS As a brand new violin user, I am mostly happy with this purchase. If the bridge came aligned, like it was advertised, I would have rated this five stars. In it's current condition it is very difficult to play the A string without running into the E and D strings. I took it to a local music shop and they referred me to a luthier to shape the bridge. (They also warned me never to purchase a violin on Amazon) Even though this is advertised as "silent", it produces a good amount of noise. Had I understood the bridge problem, I might have just gone with an acoustic, instead. PROS The set up was very easy; I watched the video and followed along. Making sure the bridge stayed in the right place took a couple of tries. The sound this makes is nice. I do recommend using the headphones as it sound smoother with them. The bow works well, just score the resin before you try using it. It took a little bit to get the bow to make noise. *** Overall, I like this violin and can't wait to dive into learning how to play. I bought this as a "hobby" and wasn't looking for a high priced investment. ... show more

  • Everyone is happy
Color: white
Great violin, I only have to annoy myself when I'm practicing now. The only thing wrong is the fact that it came with the battery inside and powered on. The battery was dead and I had to order 9v so I could use it. So, grab some extra 9v batteries when you purchase.
