Description

ABOUT US In 2002, Minus33 was created by textile engineers from L. W. Packard & Co. Inc. L. W. Packard has been involved in just about every aspect of the wool industry, and a proud family-owned business since 1916. In 1995, L.W. Packard was selected by Textile World magazine as one of the top ten textile plants in the world. With so much of our family history rooted in the wool industry, combined with our genuine passion for the outdoors, it only made sense for Minus33 to emerge as a merino wool clothing brand. Minus33 began as a snowmobile brand, and quickly expanded to other outdoor markets, such as hiking, skiing, and hunting due the versatility of our product offering. Then, the absorbed moisture evaporates out of the fabric into the atmosphere. INSULATES WHEN WET Wool will absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy. If you do get wet, wool will insulate you better than cotton or polyester materials. UV PROTECTION Don’t worry about sunburn on a sunny day summiting a peak. • Falling in line with everyone else on this one.. great socks!
Size: Medium Color: Azure Blue
I bought these completely based on reviews and yes, I have been disappointed in the past purchasing other products that way. Not this time. These socks are great!! Especially for the price!!

  • comfie and loved socks
Size: Large Color: Grey Heather
i got a few holes in these fairly quickly but oversized shoes may have helped the holes develop

  • Well made and warm!
Size: Large Color: Azure Blue
I've only worn these socks two or three times, but they're great at keeping my feet warm on cold New England winter hikes. They come up to just below my knee, they're made well, soft, warm, and thick - but not so thick that they don't fit into my hiking shoes (I double up in my winter boots, but wear these solo in my Merrells). My only complaint is that the foot part of these socks is a little too large for my feet - if I pull them up tight, the heel cushion is at the back of my foot by my Achilles tendon, but if I leave the heel cushion on my heel then I get extra material bunching up around my toes. Not a deal breaker, but it does take an extra minute or two to get them just right. ... show more

Vented socks. not made for warmth. Made for skiing or snowboarding. Not sitting.

  • Warm as Toast!
Size: Small Color: Azure Blue
These knee socks have high wool content, which I wanted for warmth, and seem to be really well made. I have only had them a few months, so I can't speak about durability. I read reviews though, and feel confident that I will not be disappointed by them. They fit well and are really comfortable. I don't think one could ask for more! ... show more

  • They’re warm and not itchy!
Size: Small Color: Grey Heather
Love these socks. The size Small was a little big for my shoe size 6, but I washed and dried them warm and now they’re perfect. (Don’t wash on warm if they already fit you perfectly. Wash on delicate and air dry). I would buy them again

  • Runs big
Size: Large Color: Azure Blue
My husband used these the other day for skiing and they performed well. The stayed up just below his knee the entire day and kept him warm and dry. He likes a very thin sock and out of the package these are thicker than he would normally wear. But after you pull them onto your foot they thin out and are not as thick. The only issue is the size, they do run large. He's a size 10 and I ordered the Large, but they were a little long. After skiing he had my son try them on who's a size 13, and they fit perfectly. I'll order a couple pairs of the medium for him. ... show more

  • Pretty Good
Size: Large Color: Black
I gave these a 4 star because they do not have the padding that most ski & snowboard socks do. Otherwise, these socks were warm. I wore these over non-insulated 10.5D Danner boots w/ Gortex and they seem to do fine. In extreme cold like that winter storm we had, they did a decent job. Standing around outside for long hours doesn't help so you gotta move around a bit. Also it would help if you change your socks daily. I have 2 pairs that I rotate daily over 7 days before washing. These socks also do pretty well in the wash on gentle cycle. I've noticed some soft pilling, but that's from friction; and it's not enough to start bothering me. If you're looking for socks without the padding - or minimal cushioning, these will come in handy. For those looking for full cushion or more, keep looking. However, Minus 33 does make an expedition weight sock (it looks like over the calf but doesn't say...) and a hiker sock (crew length)... ... show more
