  • Minnetonka Mocs Fan
If you've never worn mocs before, then definitely don't buy these. It will ruin you forever. I tried to warn my husband, but 30 or so pairs later, over nearly 2 decades, and he's an addict, like me. You'll never again be comfortable in any other shoe. You'll wear other shoes and not feel the ground as you do in a moc, and have a sense of the pavement the way you do the road when you hold the wheel in a sports car. You'll not be as sure-footed ever again in another shoe. You'll not feel as agile, even with all the science they put into all the sports shoes sold for 3 times the price. No, don't buy a moc if you can avoid it. You'll never want to wear anything else ever again, even when you do so for style or color choices, or for work or party shoes, and then come home and put on your "home" and "comfy" shoes. If you insist on doing it, don't say I didn't try to warn you. I've been wearing Minnetonka mocs for decades. I've graduated from the Moose Mocs (and slippers ) to these in the past few years (although I'll always have at least 3 pairs of Moose mocs in all the colors available). They seem to wear a bit longer and they've expanded my shoe wardrobe to more color choices. I have this style in the blue, ice (which is a champagne/off-white) and the darker leather/reddish color. (I recommend that people start with the Moose mocs, just because they're a bit softer than the other harder/stiffer leathers. Moose mocs are the gateway drug to true moc addiction!) Mocs are made with either leather or cotton cord. The tops are loop-stitched to the sides with the cord, and the cord is tied in knots... and where there are knots there can be rough spots that you can feel... If you are used to mocs, then you'll know you have to get used to each pair, and no two pairs (even in the same style) will be exactly the same. You have to wear down and in those knots a bit before they get comfy (a combination of wearing down the knot a bit and developing a callous where the knot is), and each pair may cause a bit of staining on your feet (depending on how deep the color, and how much your feet perspire) because of the natural leather dyes (that goes away after a few wearings). That's what mocs do! Dyes that are not natural have chemicals that prevent the dyes from leeching. These are water-based dyes and a shower will be all that is necessary to wash it away from your feet. No need to panic! After about 8 to 10 hours of wear (wear them around the house a bit to break them in, or when you are sitting, and definitely have something to change to, just in case), the knots will lose most of their roughness and your mocs will become friends, not shoes. They'll shape to YOUR feet, the same way that leather sandals do. The blue ones look a bit more like deck shoes than mocs. (I'm still on the fence on that, but they're a softer leather than the reddish brown, and they're getting comfy faster.) They are definitely a beautiful shade of blue, and no sign of the blue fading. I expect these to last 5 to 7 years of near constant wear, before being relegated to "garden" use for a few more years, before they are finally used as a fetch toy for the dog. And because they're mocs, there's no risk of them going in or out of style. Mocs are mocs. They're timeless... and "fads" are things moc wearers shouldn't be concerned about. ... show more

  • nice shoe
I have had these moccasins before. They are consistent in size and quality. I buy my regular size but I always add an over the counter shoe insert as the foot bed is not overly soft. My favorite pair was in a color called "ice". They unfortunately don't make that any more so I had to go with white. I like the sole on this shoe. ... show more

  • Love these shoes but they were too large for some reason
I like the Mocasins but too wide.

  • Runs very large
Size: 5 Color: Navy Smooth
Nice looking shoes, but sizing is uneven and generally runs bigger than expected. I first ordered size 51/2 because my fit is 5 to 51/2 depending on the manufacturer. It was a little too big. Next I ordered size 5 thinking it should be just about right. Nope. The size 5 was even bigger and looser than the size 51/2. My sister wears size 6 and this size 5 was even too big for her. So size control is not good or accurate. ... show more

  • Feel good shoes!
I am a big fan of Minnetonka moccasins but have discovered that each shoe style does not fit the same. I ordered a size 8.5 since I had a pair in the past of that size and normally wear a 9 in most other shoes. These were even larger than my other pair so I returned them. I did not reorder them in an 8 but reordered two different styles of Minnetonka moccasins in a size 8.5. The one pair is also a little larger than my first pair and the other pair are actually smaller! Most of their moccasins will stretch out after wearing them for a short time so I am hoping that the smaller pair will stretch through use. ... show more

  • Sloppy
I have been wearing Minnetonkas since I was a teenager (I am now 77). I usually have two pairs in rotation: one for "dress" & one for knocking around. Something has happened to their sizing since I last ordered a pair. I am a true size 7 shoe and this last pair I ordered fits very sloppily on my foot. At first I thought I might've inadvertently ordered a wide width by mistake as that is how it fits, but in checking the shoe and the box it is indeed a regular. Gaps around the instep and the heel. A smaller size wouldn't work as the length is perfect. I've solved the problem to a certain extent by inserting insoles, but am very disappointed. I think I need to personally contact the company. ... show more

  • Too big in the heel :(
I had a pair of these years ago, the beaded ones, that I wore until they literally fell apart. I saw these, sans beads, and thought time to buy a new pair. There was something odd in the heel area, it was too long, not in proportion to the rest of the shoe and it bounced a bit up and down when I tried them on. The fit in the toe and on the sides was fine. I wear a standard 6M, maybe a wee bit to the wide side. Had to return them. Was sad. ... show more

  • Not to size
I have been wearing the same shoe in the same size (ladies 7) for years. I can't get my foot into this shoe and am returning them, they are not a size 7.
