  • Great little machine
Style: HX99G(32+512)
I got the HX99G, with 500gb nvme and 32gb ram. I’ve been holding off a review ever since I got it so I can spend as much time possible with it before giving it a review. I’ve gotta say, I love it. I had a custom build pc with a i9 and a 3080ti and I downgraded to a smaller machine to make my setup cleaner and I am very very happy with it. Something to note is they say HDMI can do 4k60 but with a HDMI 2.1 cable I get 144hz out of my 4k resolution. This machine is VERY quiet by the way. Performance: Coming from a i9 and a rtx 3080ti I wasn’t expecting crazy frame rates at high settings BUT BOY WAS I WRONG. Every game I play is not maxed out at 4k cause that would be absurd for this pc. Like I said I have a 4k 144hz monitor. However maxed out at 1080p and even 1440p in most games is not out of the equation, and just cause I can’t run every game 144hz 4k ultra settings doesn’t mean I’m not using 4k! I am still using 4k in quite a lot of games. I also went into the bios and disabled the iGPU. Average fps on games I played: Fortnite 4k: 80-120fps (mostly above 100) with low/competitive settings and render distance max The last of us 1080p: fsr enabled solid 60fps with optimized settings I got from YouTube, was very surprised about this one as this game is very unoptimized Rust 1440p: 60-80fps with a mix of medium and high settings Minecraft 4k (Java and bedrock): 144fps locked ultra settings with render distance at 16 for Java and max on bedrock Marvels Spider-Man 1440p: fsr enabled 80-120fps ultra settings and 4k at high constantly above 60 average of about 70ish fps. MW2 (2022) 4k: fsr enabled low settings was getting 120-144fps Upgradability: Ram and storage is simple, just swap what you want just make sure it’s sodim ram and nvme storage, also there is 2 nvme slots, i through in a Samsung 970 evo 2tb I had lying around. Just make sure you get heat sinks for these because they overheated on the last model. The HX99G comes with heat sinks pre installed on the ram and nvme that it already comes with however so overheating there should not be a problem on this unit and hasn’t been for me. Thermals: This was tested under Celsius. Cpu usually stays around 35-50 and under load of gaming usually doesn’t go passed 75 degrees, however something to note is it didn’t go past 72 until I installed the second nvme ssd, which I believe may be is directly behind the cpu, either way cpu temps don’t intimidate me and should be good for long run. Gpu is about the same story, usually stays around 35-50 as well and under load of gaming usually stays around 65 degrees. Ssd and ram were at good temps too since they all have thermal pads on them. Overall, I’d say it’s a solid machine and you should give it a try if you’re looking for a smaller pc, performance is very solid. I sold my beefy desktop and replaced it with this with no problems so far. ... show more

  • Excellent Mini PC. Easy to set up and operate. Great performance. Everything just works!
Style: MC560(16+512G)
This unit is my first mini PC and I bought it for use as an office machine and minor video editing. I did not purchase it as a gaming PC, however I understand that it can run most games which are not super graphic intensive. However I am running Cities Skylines through Steam and it is working very well. Set up was super easy and everything works flawlessly. The unit is super quiet, with just a small momentary fan noise upon boot-up, but after that, it is silent. The Bluetooth and Wi-Fi modules work perfectly and connect without a problem. My unit came with a 512GB SSD primary drive and 16GB of RAM. I added a secondary 2TB 2.5" HDD and it works perfectly. Please note that some users have tried to add an SSD instead of an HDD as a secondary drive and that the computer does have issues recognising some SSDs by certain manufacturers (Samsung), so please do your research if you want to use an SSD instead of an HDD as a secondary drive. Power and bootup is lightning fast and it comes with Windows 11 pre-installed. You can also put Linux on this unit should you choose and you can access the BIOS by pressing the "del" key on bootup to access the BIOS settings to install and configure. This is a great little unit at a really good price. Recommended to anyone who is after a great small form factor PC for their home or office. ... show more

  • A Power Packed Mini PC: Performer or Pretender?
Style: HX99G(32+1T)
Pros: - High-End GPU: Boasts one of the market's best discrete GPUs, setting it apart from other mini PC options. - Considered Design: The user-focused case design demonstrates thoughtful engineering. - Compact and Accessible: Its small size does not compromise accessibility, making maintenance or upgrades straightforward. - Understated Look: The all-matte-black design, devoid of flashy RGBs or 'gamer' aesthetics, gives it a sleek, professional appeal. Cons: - M.2 Network Card Compatibility: Despite extensive troubleshooting, the PC failed to recognize my replaced M.2 network card. - Coil Whine Issue: Notable coil whining in my unit is a potential concern for noise-sensitive users. - Below-Par SSD Speeds: The NVMe4.0 SSD's read/write speeds, clocking in at just 3,500 mb/s, fell short of expectations (6,000-7,000 mb/s). - Very Slow Boot-Up: Despite adjustments to settings for faster load times, the PC's startup speed was disappointingly sluggish. - Non-Adjustable Blue Light: The lack of an off-switch for the power button's bright blue light could be bothersome. Games: - I don't want to go too indepth but Diablo4 (beta) was played on ultra/high settings while Cyberpunk 2077 was played on medium settings for the best smooth experience. Conclusion: - This Mini PC Gamer is essentially a full-featured gaming PC condensed into a minimalist, compact case. With no need to worry about laptop-specific issues like battery life or screen quality, it's a solid choice for dedicated gamers. The replaceable hard drive and M.2 slots add to its appeal. However, given the unit's inability to recognize swapped M.2 components and a few other drawbacks, it might not meet everyone's expectations. While it has some impressive features, the downsides could be deal-breakers for certain buyers like myself. ... show more

  • The little monster.
Style: HX99G(32+1T)
I sold my desktop 2 years ago and was using my Asus Zephyrus G14 connected to a 23” monitor, since. My desk space is limited and the laptop was kinda messing with the feng shui and ergonomics of my set up. The HX99G solved this issue AND freed up my laptop, too. Not to mention the upgrade of the Radeon RX6600M gpu from an RTX 2060, a much faster AMD Ryzen 9 cpu, twice the ram of my 16g laptop AND DDR5 from DDR4. My only gripes are, I hate Windows11 and a HDD indicator light would have been the cherry on top. I’m used to monitoring my disk activity. I’ve only had it for two days and I love the form factor, power and the build quality. I’m hoping it lasts a long time. ... show more
