It was very easy to install. I have only 2 grievances. One, the down pole is not adjustable it is fixed at 6 inches. This worked fine for me, but for others they may want a longer pole. My other grievance is that if you have a stud to screw the base plate into, only 2 of the 3 screws will go into the stud, you will still need to use a plastic anchor for one of the screws. ... show more

    • Metal is very thin
The packaging was just a clear bag of hardware floating around in my Amazon bag (had multiple items in my order) it wasn't in a box or anything. Had to have extra help to install it but it's doing its job.

    • Have a stud finder before hand
The media could not be loaded. Screwing into the wall it’s always better to have a stud finder so you’re not screwing it into sheet rock, and then gravity will eventually pull it out of the ceiling

Based on the images provided, you would think that's a regular projector they used as a reference for size. It's not... I don't know if they shopped an image of a projector on their to make it appear bigger, but the mount is extremely small. It only gives about 6" (~152mm) of clearance from the ceiling. I ordered this because it appeared it could clear at least 1' (~304mm), which would place it below my ceiling fan. Now I'm going to have to modify it to get the proper length. It looks to be a 1/2" OD for the threading, so that shouldn't be too difficult. I gave it 4/5 for sturdiness because the aluminum they use is pretty thin and would barely support the weight of a modern 1080 (or greater) projector. I wouldn't put anything heavier than 5lbs (2.26kg) on it. UPDATE: It was somewhere in between 1/2" and 3/8" OD. The thread was non-standard so I had to press fit and solder a 3/8" pipe into its support pipe, and use a standard 3/8" flange to mount it to the ceiling. Not the most practical installation but definitely the cheapest route to having a sturdy and universal pole mount for a projector. ... show more

    • You get what you paid for
Overall, this gets the job done so long as you know its limitation. The mounting hardware it comes with is garbage, do not use these. All screws stripped when I tried to use them and I just ended using my own screws. My main gripe with this is that it does not hold my projector still no matter how hard I tighten down the bolt. Every day I find my projector shifting ever so slightly up or down. If you have a projector screen and you're trying to keep your projected image exactly on the edges of it, this is not for you. It's a $10 cheap mount and for that price you get what you paid for. With good screws to mount it, this will hold up your projector just fine. I have no worries that my projector will fall with this mount, but make sure you do use the right size mounting point for your projector. ... show more

Easy to install. Although ... I purchased new dryway molly brackets as the ones included are trash. (Three in total) Item is easy to use and adjust. Works on same principle as the brands that cost much more. GOOD BUY FOR SURE!
