Bought for my 8 year old Grandaughter. She and I worked on it together only to find that it is impossible to create the cross stitching. The holes are too small to put a needle through more than two times. Needles provided are nearly impossible to thread and the one we used broke at the eye because the quality is so poor. We tried doing the recommended three strands. After much frustration on both of our parts, I pulled everything apart and tried using just 2 strands. Even that was impossible to pass through the holes more than three times so the images could not be completed. My Grandaughter said, "Grandma, that is really a bad kit. Even you couldn't do it." My 8 year old granddaughter loves the kit. The embroidery floss is good, but the 2 needles that came with it broke within 10 minutes. The needle her mother gave her from her sewing supplies have lasted several days.

This is a cute little kit, too difficult for most 8yo kids, even with help, but impossible even for an adult using the provided supplies. The needles have TINY eyes and are almost impossible to thread, then both needles broke on the first project. The holes in the wood pieces are too small to hold a complete count of cross stitches and therefore also won’t allow you to put a needle in a hole after you’ve done 3 stitches around it. The instructions say to use 3 strands of floss, that is impossible with these wood pieces. It might work with two, but I have no needles that will fit in the holes now! ... show more
