When you buy a softball bat, you don't buy it for looks or longevity. If you need a bat to last years and years, then don't let the team swing it or buy a log. But I have always been of the mindset that if I have a hot stick, I want my teammates to utilize it as well and take my chances if it ever breaks...which has never happened for me. With all that said, this bat needs zero break in. First swing sounded like a shotgun screaming past the 3rd basemen's head on a rope. I typically am a end load guy, but the way this bat gets through the zone is just downright dirty. I also feel I have better control to place the ball anywhere I want and I did just that with my next swing splitting the RC and RF. I'm 5'8" and 160lbs so I obviously don't have the pop of some of my 6'2" 200lb teammates. Doesn't matter as this thing levels the playing field. Great bat in typical Miken fashion. If you can't hit with this bat, then you probably just aren't very good...which is ok too. Trying to not offend the athletically challenged. ... show more

This bat is incredible! It arrived in perfect condition and took no time to break in. It was game-ready the moment the wrapper came off! The 27oz USA model is a very balanced bat, the grips feel great (with or without gloves), and the extra-long barrel will definitely give you a boost in hitting velocity and power. Bat has a nice pop but the top piece of the bat is now loose and telescoping. I’ve tried tightening it but will keep coming loose.
