I recently had surgery on my hand which involved several procedures to multiple joints including a couple joint arthroplasties. During therapy at the Ortho clinic they use moist heated pads which feel great and help with stiffness after surgery, so as suggested by the Occupational therapist I was shown some versions I could buy for home use. I ordered the therapy mittens from PhysioNatural as their therapy mittens looked like a higher quality than the others I saw, and would be the best for what I needed. They are very nice. I was surprised that when heated, they give a moist heat which feels very nice on the hands. Even after my therapy sessions are finished I will continue to use them, as my hands are feeling soft and smooth after using these therapy mittens. Update to original review: These mitts, and the company behind them, are nothing short of amazing. Sadly, my condition has worsened in the last 8 months, and I now rely on these mitts at least 4 x a week. Recently we traveled out of state to a hospital, and stayed in a motel with an old, sub-par microwave. I had a terrible attack while there, and my son tried frantically to heat the mitts, which resulted in the old hotel microwave blowing up one of the mitts. I rely heavily on these , and was going to order another pair right away, but decided to contact the company first by email. I got a reply right away from James Anderson, saying that they are sending replacement bean bags right away. So kind and amazing to find a company that stands behind their product after 11 months, even with damage caused by machine/ human error. Please don't hesitate to order from this company. The mitts are big, soft, heat perfectly and provide heavenly pain relief. A huge thank you to PhysioNatural! Due to an autoimmune disorder I often experience severe pain in my hands. These mitts, are the best invention since sliced bread! I pop them in the microwave for about 3 minutes (i place them standing on their sides, facing each other, for more even heating) then grab them , sit in a comfy chair, pop them on and bask in soothing moist heat. They're large, they're soft, the scent is light, not overpowering, and the beads stay warm for a long time, and I like the weight- very soothing. They stay warm long enough to delegate dish washing or other chores to someone else. Simply hold up your mittened hands and say sonething like, "I'd wash the dishes, but my hands hurt, so would you do it? " Almost forgot to mention that there was a tiny gift card inside the box with a code & an email address to redeem it. I did so, and they sent me a lovely email saying my gift was forthcoming. These therapy mitts are a treat for arthritic fingers. While I wish they could take all the pain away, only a miracle could make that happen. Until that day comes, I’ll be using these mitts to help relieve the stiffness and clicking that happens in my finger joint. It seems to significantly help ease arthritis symptoms for me. The aroma is nice too. They are a bit heavy and I can’t do much when the mitts are on. Not a bad thing...it’s a good excuse to stop, relax and take a breather from the hectic day to day schedule. I find the heaviness adds to the comfort of wearing the mitts. In the picture, I took out the parts that hold the heating elements to show that each mitt has two heating packs and the outside is washable. I also had a “winning code” included in the packaging. So I emailed the code to the email address and the co-founder replied very quickly with a lovely response asking for information so he could mail me the gift. When I didn’t reply back a few days later, he politely and kindly emailed me again. The day he emailed a second time, I was warming up the mitts in a microwave and one of the mitts got burnt and stuck to the paper plate. The mitt was ruined because a hole developed (I’m not sure what happened so be sure to follow their microwaving directions). I emailed the owner along with a picture of the burnt mitt, asking how I can get a replacement. He again quickly replied with a lovely email, informing me that he was sending a new pair at no cost and also included the free gift from the winning code. He furthermore told me I didn’t have to return the old mitts. The replacement mitts came today along with the gift. No spoilers here but the gift is really nice and of good quality. I’m so impressed by their outstanding customer service!! I highly recommend these mitts and the company that sells them! The fabric is soft and the gloves heat easily in the microwave. My only surprise was that these are so much larger than a kitchen mitt.

    • Very happy with how these work
I've tried a number of things before as my arthritis has gotten worse in my hands. But I love these mittens. The heat up quickly in the microwave and then I usually put them on my hands when I go to bed at night for about 30 minutes to an hour. Some have mentioned that the mittens are too heavy. But that's not really the case. They have to be kind of heavy so you have pressure with your heat. And I'm not sure why anyone would want to heat these up and walk around with them on their hands anyway. To me there are the perfect weight and softness and do a great job of making my hands feel much looser and have a lot less pain. Would definitely buy again. As a bonus the president of the company James reached out via email to make sure everything was fine with the product and I even got a free gift to boot.
