Features

  • The MICHELIN tire for all types of cruisers, offering more longevity without compromising stability and handling.
  • Proven Longevity - The benchmark in longevity commissioned third-party tests show that the MICHELIN Commander II rear tire lasts almost twice as long as its main competitors.*
  • No Compromise on Stability and Manuverability - Thanks to its high-density and therefore stiffer frame (MICHELIN Amplified Density Technology), MICHELIN Commander II features premium handling and responsiveness. The top layers in rear tires are made of aramid fibers, which combine resistance and a lightweight feel for perfect stability, even at high speeds.
  • Excellent Grip on Wet Surfaces - A brand new longitudinal tread provides outstanding water evacuation, and thus excellent grip on wet surfaces.
  • *Commissioned third party tests conducted in 2011 on public roads comparing MICHELIN Commander II tires, Metzeler ME880, and Dunlop D407/D408 tires in sizes 130/80B17 and 180/65B16. Individual results may vary depending on motorcycle type and operating conditions.

Description

When the MICHELIN Commander II tire was released it set the standard in terms of tire life, almost doubling the life that consumers would see from its competitors. In addition to long tire life, Michelin has incorporated MICHELIN Amplified Density Technology (ADT) which increases responsiveness. • Great tires, great price and great shipping.
Got the set for my old FXR. Decided to run these since you cant match the 888. You had to mix 880 and 888. My Avons were great at first but then quickly went to hell. These lock up, hold the surface in a turn and displace water in the rain. I believe these are superior to the 880. Checked the dates and the oldest tire was only 7 months old. The other one was 4. Awesome! I will report back in later in the season to post wear. ... show more

  • Second set on my Harley
This is my very first review of anything i've purchased on here. I felt these tires deserved one. This is the second set that i've installed on my 2007 Harley FLHTCU, and i couldn't be happier. I wanted to wait until i rode these to the wear limit before reviewing. They are the absolute best handling tires i've every owned, and prior to these i've used the OEM Dunlops exclusively. Never got more than 9000 miles on rear and 20,000 on the front. The Michelin still has tread left on them at 15000 miles on the rear, and 25000 miles on the front. The only reason i'm changing them now is that i've got a 2000 mile trip planned and didn't want to trust 2 year old tires for it. I've got absolutely no complaints on the Michelin tires. The handle and feel great, and they wear like iron.. Highly recommend. And the plus side, is you can get them on Amazon cheaper than the OEM tires. ... show more

  • So Far Great Product
I have put around 3,000 miles on my 2003 Harley Electra Glide since installing this tire and it has been working great. It was more affordable than the Dunlop. My Dunlop that was on the bike when I purchased it was worn out so I can't tell you which one is better as far as traction but this one seems to be working well and does not show excessive wear with 3,000 miles. Price per mile of wear it appears this one beats the Dunlop. Only time will tell. It did slide when riding in the rain coming down a hill in Omaha one time but I think no matter what tire I would have had on there it would have slide due to the smoothly worn road. I have had good luck with all of the Michelin tires that I've purchased. ... show more

  • I love these!
2001 Harley Davidson FXDL Dyna Low Rider I HATED how the stock Dunlops handled. I average around 6,000 miles a season. The Dunlops felt like every little crease and groove in the road was grabbing my handlebars away from me. I thought there was something seriously wrong with my bike and even swapped bikes with my husband a few times to see if he thought there was something wrong. The difference with these tires is NIGHT and DAY, and my bike is darn near perfect now! I ride over heavily grooved concrete with these and hardly even notice. Quick, easy, responsive swerving and turning, super smooth ride. Oh, and they arrived super-quick, too. 7/24/17 update: I purchased these early summer 2013 and put on around 25,000 miles before replacing the rear tire this spring. The front one still has plenty of miles left in it! ... show more
