Be careful and not use too much. The jars are packed by weight and some colors are denser than others and take less space per gram.

I bought this when it was on sale for 50 and had a 20% coupon so it was relatively reasonably priced for the number of colors, however I was disappointed to see that the chameleon colors are not at all what they display. They're all pretty neutral looking in the same shade family and do not appear to have the colors shown. Another thing is that there are some that appear to be mislabeled? One of them was something black but it's actually White. Then there are the ones that for whatever reason seem to be only partially full even though they have a seal on them I don't really understand what happened there but no real quality control. They're also appears to be duplicates of some randomly. Aside from those few unfortunate circumstances if you're just starting out I still would recommend this because you get a ton of colors and they are very pretty. There are some lovely colors in there and dupes just mean to get more of one. If you're looking for something specifically for like the chameleon properties I would maybe buy a set that's only chameleon or a different brand so you know exactly what it is you're getting but I still like this set because they work well they are really shimmery and pretty and you have a ton to choose from. Just wanted to give a buyers beware so you know what you're getting into. It's still worth the money for what you get but there are some little oddities that you may see so just a heads up to know what to expect ... show more

I read many reviews on mica powders before buying this. This one had very high reviews for color selections - Baltic Day does indeed carry a huge color range. But the jars were not very good - and that's where they failed in other online reviews as well. I've got one jar that definitely doesn't even look like it has the 5g. And another one that I opened to look at and the cap feels like it will break if I tighten it too much. This is the manufacturer's jar too, not a shipping problem. Maybe it's because the small jars are so... small. But at least there is enough of each color that I can make a selection of what I want and then order more of those colors later in a bigger jar. I assume those would be better. ... show more

As usual, I spent hours looking over all of the different mica sets. Looking for the largest range of colors as well as packaging, reviews and quantity for my budget. After lots of reading and narrowing down, I chose this Baltic Day set. Most of my projects are small crafts and gifts so 5 grams of each should be plenty for a while. Everything came neatly packaged and I was fortunate to not have any leaks. There is lots of nice colors but I have to say that I am a little disappointed so far with the purples and some of the greens. In the photo it appears to be a good range of different shades of purple but all of the ones I have are so similar in color (see photos). Some of the greens are that way too. 2 of them look identical just with different names. There are not many TRUE colors either. Such as Emerald green. To me Emerald Green has always been a dark rich green, this is a pastel mint green. Scarlet is usually a deep red...this is more of orange/rust. There is nothing olive about the olive green color in this pack. So while they are all very pretty, many of them look nothing like they do in the photo or what I have always known them to be. I haven't used them or even opened any baggies yet. I am still deciding on whether I am keeping them or not. I also purchased containers for them as well. Oh yes...I do want to add that I purchased 10 gram sized containers so they would not be filled right to the top. I am so glad that I did. I have weighed a majority of the bags and haven't found one yet that weighs less then 6.5 grams! So you do get much more then promised. Definitely a plus! I would have also preferred a much smaller spoon. The included shovel is much to big and unnecessary if "a little goes a long way" and will not work with the containers I bought for these powders. ... show more

I thought the colors were very nice, a little does go a long way. Some jars have less in them, but they are a heavier density, so you ARE getting the same weight for all jars.

Some of the packages are so defective that you'll have to use the entire jar because there is no way the lid will screw back on. Some of the colors seem a bit washed out. Some of the colors are gorgeous and simply fantastic. The quantity seems reasonable for the most part. It's a mixed review because it was a mixed experience. I probably won't buy this set again but will look for my favorite few separately and try to find larger sets of another brand that has more vivid colors. ... show more
