I started following Baltic-Day on Instagram a few months ago. When I saw them promoting their mica powders I was curious so I thought I'd give them a try. I've been dabbling with resin, which has now become an obsession with my art. I trucked on over to Amazon and bought their 24 pack. Their powders are very vivid. They even give you a little gold spoon, which I thought was a nice touch. When I began using mica powders I started with no name brand and compared the colors with the Baltic - Day and WOW, what a difference. I am posting some pics of some of my latest pieces. I don't have before and after pictures (Sorry), but you can at least see the what the results are when you use the powders. The table is a re-pour. It had bubbles in it from my first pour. (Literally the first pour I ever ) so I sanded it down and re-poured it with added a smidge of gold, and a tiny three oz cup of the brown with the rest of the pour being clear epoxy resin. It looks amazing! The Cheese board is a combo of colors. Red mica mixed with AI inks of Crimson and acrylic True red, grey mix with silver, black acrylic paint and white mica powder. A-FreakingMazing! And the Tray is a project that I am still working on but is All resin with Silver, Black, White and Gold Mica powders, mixed with resin. Loved the results. These are a must buy! You'll love them Watch their videos on mixing to get different color schemes for sure! And follow on Instagram for good ideas! You really can't go wrong. P.S. I have also used the the powders with a couple different types of resin/epoxy mixes and have had exceptional results with all of them. Go on Now, go order....All of the colors! ... show more

    • Don't trust the photos....

These are beautiful pigments, and I don't want to detract a star for this, but the photos are not accurate at all. The reds are far more pinkish than shown. Sadly, my whole reason for purchasing the art was for the reds... this isn't my first rodeo, so I'm not hugely surprised. But I am disappointed in some of the other colors, too. The "chocolate" is very bronze. The pruples are damn near identical - there's a slight possibility that I can see a difference, and I'm pretty keen on picking that up, but it's so slight that 99.9% of people won't see it. The whites are also incredibly similar, but in the bottles have litt difference in the size of the granules that shimmer slightly differently. If you're just after a nice set of pigments, I say go for it. But if you're after a specific color(s), don't trust the pics. ... show more

I used these for soap making and they are fantastic and produce vivid results. But now that I am preparing to make soap for sale and creating my ingredients list, I had to discontinue the use of the mica's and use another supplier that does provide ingredients on their packaging so that I could properly label my soap. For example, mica and titanium dioxide is a base of mica colorants, but I need to know if these contain iron oxide, ultramarine blue...etc. I wish I did not have this problem because I really did enjoy using these. However, if I don't know what is in these, I can't properly inform users of my future soap what is in my soap. The photos is the final batch of soap I made using these mica powders. ... show more

I bought these pigments back in May for some new resin pieces I was about to design. Iโ€™m an artist, so the quality of my materials is paramount. Since this was my very first time even attempting resin pieces, I knew I needed high quality pigments with lots of color that would stay suspended in the resin. I wasnโ€™t disappointed!!! Holy moly, friends! The colors are absolutely beautiful and so vibrant! I canโ€™t get over just how VIVID the colors are. I was so pleased with the pigments that I kept making more and more pieces! I made a small mess the first time I opened one of the bags because Iโ€™d forgotten that the powder was going to poof up in my face, but I was too excited to care. What I like the most about these pigments is that they truly stay incorporated in the resin and donโ€™t sink to the bottom, so the integrity of the pieces you make remain intact. Small vials but pack a big punch. A little goes a long way for my polymer clay projects. I like the wide little flap feature, that way I can dip my brush right in to avoid any waste. I love the color assortment in this set (my favorite is the pearl)
