Absolutely floored by 500~ pieces for 5.99 with the 80% off going on right now. Got 10 and making my own DIY pirate bay pier for funsies. My inner 11 year old is going crazy over how the parts quality actually feels rather nice. Quality matches how I remember The Usual Brand is, and maybe even better than getting used stuff from the 90's. Clutch is solid, no miscast parts. No minis other than the animals, unfortunately. A great mix of weird specialized pieces and basic pieces that get better when purchased in multiples. Some really crazy parts like glowing spears and some clever things like the spike trap I wasn't expecting from a bargain pile of bricks. I have an underwater Lego display and totally made use of this set to add to the sunken ships in my display. While I sorta broke it up, it is also a really cool above-water pirate port for your legos as well! This set is great for getting your kids off electronics for awhile. Between building and then playing pirates, you have a couple hours before they are complaining about being bored again. This set was on sale for $6 like the other Island one. That one was fine. This one started out okay but somewhere after halfway through it was missing pieces. There were about a dozen before I just decided to quit. I displayed what I had completed and put the rest away to use for other projects. Some pieces on both sets were a little hard to put together but most were fine. If apply too much pressure though you may have to rebuild a section of it. I’m guessing that on this one that it’s possible a whole bag was missing. Bags aren’t numbered so you need to open all but it’s not a lot of pieces so that’s not a big deal. What a let down. I purchased for my son for Easter basket, loving there’s cool builds at great prices. But buyer beware with great pricing comes YA GET WHAT YA PAY FOR. The large sail piece (debatably the most important piece) is nowhere to be found! Why trying to find sellers info to possibly request just that piece be sent, it’s nowhere to be found. Amazon only gives the option to return YA SURE, I’ll let my son know the Easter bunny bought from Amazon, we have to knock down your build cuz of 1 PIECE! Sad all around, building sets CAN NOT MISS ANY PIECES, and if it happened to one, it has to have happened to many. Would give zero stars if possible! ... show more
