These are some of the best tactical boots I’ve ever owned. Fresh out of the box I did 6 hours on my feet in these and I felt like I was walking on pillows. The main reason for buying these was hiking. I hike a lot, short hikes and long distance hikes (5-26 miles). My normal hikers are a different brand and I love them, but they’re more suited for warm weather. These seem nice and warm, not overly stuffed with insulation, very flexible, and excellent grip. Winter hiking is going to be amazing in these boots!! Now for the other stuff, fit is dead on for the brand. I go between a 10.5 and an 11. Typically with Merrells I’m an 11 and these fit just right, I wore “normal” thickness socks with them. With heavier socks they still fit well I just needed to loosen the laces a little bit. The toe box was just right, I didn’t feel like my toes were being scrunched. The arch support felt good, I have pretty bad arthritis in one knee and these boots actually felt good to my knee. The ankle support felt good, flexible but solid. Make sure you tighten the laces properly or they will likely bother your ankles. The soles have pretty amazing grip even on ice, yeah I tested them on icy patches today and didn’t fall. I really can’t say enough good things about these boots. ... show more

I’m a CO, I walk A LOT! 12hr shifts and these have been amazing. I have been through multiple combat boots/military/police style boots and haven’t found a pair I really love or hold up the ten years I have been a CO. I’m also a woman and just sized down for my shoe size. These are worth every penny! Snow, mud, rain, blood, vomit, and other various body secretions I don’t want to mention… my feet have stayed dry and we’re not comprised with gross stuff.     • Nice Boot; Runs narrow
I was truly impressed with the design of this boot....Except for one thing: It was WAY too narrow. They claimed to be a 13-Medium. I was able to get them on my feet after loosening all the laces. Then my feet were burning and going numb like wearing old school ski boots. I took them off and held them sole to sole to my old 5.11 boots that were 13-Medium. These were noticeable narrower. I returned them and bought the non-ice model (still waterproof) in a 13-Wide. Should be better. ... show more

    • Awesome boots; runs a bit narrow
Very nice, durable, and sturdy boots despite weighing practically nothing. I swapped out the inner cushion for Copper Compression gel insoles which are far more comfortable for wearing all day. Not sure how durable the tread actually is, but it has much better traction on ice and snow than anything else I've tried short of crampons. The boots run a bit narrow, however, so order a half a size larger than normal and you'll be able to adjust the lacing to have them fit as needed. ... show more

Tremendous all around boots. The tread is somewhat aggressive and grips very well. Keeps your feet very warm, would be too much for even mild weather though. These boots didn’t require much of a break-in at all. I would without a doubt purchase these boots again.

First, the boots are awesome as far as keeping feet nice and warm. My feet may run hot but these boots most definitely work. They are a little tight around the front of the foot on the sides. I have pretty narrow feet and I bought the boot size I normally wear. I more than likely will not be able to wear any type of insulated socks as my feet probably wont fit. But so far I'm loving them! ... show more

    • Comfortable, warm, and great support
Probably one of the most comfortable work boots I’ve ever warm. Light weight yet very warm for the mobility you have. I work as a police officer in western NY and I am very happy with them when stuck out in the snow and cold. As comfortable as a pair of sneakers. I won’t buy another brand of work boots ... show more
