This is dry cat food for indoor cats my cats love this flavor of cat food. I myself can't tell if the flavor of this cat food is of basted meat because it's not for people to eat it's for cats. Does not smell like meat or gravy it just smells like pet kibble. Easy for my cats to chew the small bits without having a problem, as with most kinds of pet food the kibble bits are in multiple shapes and color variations which haven't affected my fur babies in any negative way. Imagine learning that your cat has become allergic to the plaque on his own teeth and has to have every one of his teeth removed. Regular hard, dry foods that he could normally eat now become difficult for him to gum and swallow. After an exhausting search, I found a cat food that's more accommodating to his dietary needs that works well for my other cats. So, now he is eating well, growing strong, and becoming an all around nuisance.
