I chose this over other options including the plastic ones because it really is like a real shopping cart, rotating wheels, functional seat, great basket size, and it had the best reviews overall. No issues putting it together. My partner didn’t even look at the instructions. Get it on sale. I would not pay full price for this even though it’s very good quality for a kid’s toy.     • Sturdy little cart!
My 8 year old daughter saw this cart at a local shop where it was used in a child's play area. She fell in love with it and wanted one to go along with her toy cash register. So when we got home I looked on Amazon and was surprised at the price of the cart. I was thinking it would be a $30 or less item. So I searched all around and couldn't find a better price than the one offered here at Amazon. I thought about it for weeks before ordering. There were many other carts out there for less money but none of them got the glowing reviews that this little cart got. I finally bit the bullet and purchased the cart and I am so glad I did. My daughter plays with it every single day. She and her friends go "shopping" and fill the cart with items from our pantry. Then she rings them up at her cash register and bags them up and brings them "home" so she can put them away. It's a wonderful teaching tool as one day she will be a wife and mother and will have to do these things for real! She and her friends get so much enjoyment out of this toy that I am sorry I didn't get it sooner and all of the play time has made it well worth the money I paid. It's simple to put together, very sturdy, won't tip due to thoughtful construction on Melissa and Doug's part and it will be a toy that my daughter can some day pass along to her daughter. I think it will last forever as it's made from real metal that is very thick and strong. It seems like my daughter is going to be too tall for it maybe within the next year or two, but I honestly don't think that will stop her from using it! I wish they sold a taller version or could turn the handle into an adjustable height handle. That would be the perfect solution so that taller kids could use it. I had high hopes for this kids cart, and it far exceeded my expectations. Price was AWESOME and I can hardly call it a toy considering how sturdy and well made it is. My 3 year old is going to freak out to have his very own grocery cart at the store. He can pretend play at home, but he takes shopping and cooking very seriously so this is going to be great for him to truly feel like a big kid with me. Super easy to assemble, too! ... show more

My daughter LOVES this shopping cart. It is sturdy metal, it looks and feels like a real shopping cart, just mini. It's the same steel color as regular carts. The basket is pretty small, but it holds a good about of toy food. This is one of her favorite toys, she spends a lot of time practicing appropriate interactions in store environments, as well as practicing her counting and manners. I bought this for my 1 year old and they absolutely love it! We use this as a walker and it’s helped my little one get confident walking! It’s easier to turn so we play chase all over the house! It’s very sturdy and well made and doesn’t tip easily, yet still light and portable! We take it to the grocery store and it fits inside the shopping cart when he gets tired of walking with it. It’s so realistic and great for Montessori play! It’s made from metal just like real grocery carts. And has a “child” seat that’s perfect for his stuffed animals or snacks!
