Description

Dig in to the exciting world of construction vehicles! See the pictures, name the vehicles, and poke the irresistible buttons on every page to hear satisfying “clicks” and “pops.” This sturdy 10-page interactive board book invites kids to pop along as they explore full-color photographs of construction vehicles (an excavator, dump truck, backhoe, etc.). Poke-a-Dot® books help encourage language development, animal recognition, and fine motor skills. Patented Pop-a-Tronic™ technology lets kids one and older discover different popping sounds by poking the dots from the front or the back, with pages raised or flat! For more than 30 years, Melissa & Doug has created beautifully designed imagination- and creativity-sparking products that NBC News called “the gold standard in early childhood play.” Today, Melissa & Doug is proudly partnering with the American Academy of Pediatrics to foster early brain development and help children build important life skills through play. • Age 1+
Developmentally, this Poke-A-Dot book is great for a younger child. Over time, the caregiver's approach can be layered. For example, begin with only popping the dot on each page. As the child's development progresses, add pointing out the various construction vehicles. Lastly, when interest has developed, fold in the vehicle name. Interaction with this book depends on where the child is developmentally and how the child learns. For some, all three parts can be introduced at the same time. Enjoy the journey! ... show more

  • Great for Littles who love construction
My 2 year old son loves construction trucks of any kind so he loves looking at this book to see the machines. It’s not the best poke dot books bc there are only one dot on each page but my son still likes to look at the pictures.

  • One word and one dot
When I purchased this book for my nephew, I thought it would be like the other “Poke a dot” books I have purchased before: teaching counting and words. That is not the case. There is one word on each page, and one dot on each page, which I feel is kind of silly and pointless. I was also surprised the book was so small, as my other ones are huge. I wish I would’ve read another review similar to mine that stated the same thing… I probably wouldn’t have purchased this book. ... show more

  • Love it
My toddler loves these books. Bought this for him for a Christmas gift. Can’t wait to have him open it.

  • Has dots, but…
This book has a dot on each page. Not strategically placed. Not meaning anything. Just one dot per page. It’s so weird.

  • Great for the toddler who loves construction vehicles
Great little board book for the toddler who likes construction vehicles. We have a few of the larger poke-a-dot books, but they are so unwieldy and heavy. Even though this book doesn’t tell a story, my son loves popping the bubbles on each page and looking at the vehicles. And I don’t feel like he’s gonna break a toe if he drops in on his toes by accident! We’re happy with it. ... show more
