I originally bought this for my clothing store bc I didn’t want to pay too much for a light. This is not the product for clothing. Get an actual standing light. I still kept it bc I do live Instagram streams it and it really helps to brighten my videos and it’s work perfectly with smaller objects. I did photograph small pursed and jewelry with it that they are brighter than without the light. So I kept it for other uses. The only thing I do not like is that since the camera is on the right upper corner, if i need to get to access that part for my screen, I have to move the ring out of the way for me to exit photo, etc. But for what it’s advertised for (selfies) it’s great! This product is easy to use & is very bright when needed, but it does die faster than I might like. I can leave it to charge until its green & use it once for a few minutes & when I come back to use it a few days later (even though its been turned off the whole time), its dead & has to be recharged. With all of the videoconferencing I have been involved in recently, having my face show up clearly in the camera has been very important. I'm in a well lit room, but the light source is behind and above me, which leads to a shadow being cast over my face. A friend suggested this light and I decided to check it out. When it arrived, it was like night and day... Sorry I just had to go there, it was too easy. But really this is a good product. For my needs, it works fine on the first setting. It only lasts about 2 hours and requires a USB charge. It can be a little blinding, but you get used to it as the power goes down. This selfie ring light works well for my needs. I film short, informative videos for my business website and wanted to up the production values. This light works perfectly. It fits easily on my phone (a Samsung Galaxy) and does not leave scratches (which I had been concerned about). There are three levels of brightness. I can tell the difference between my earlier videos and the videos I've created since using the ring light. They are much improved. As a note, the light really is meant for being close to it. If you want to film or take a photo farther from the ring light, then you will need additional lighting, too. ... show more

    • Charging this light broke my laptop battery

Beware! I have a MacBook and plugged the USB charger into it because the light was starting to wane while I was on a zoom call and it killed my computer. As soon as I plugged the light in to charge, my entire computer went to black screen of death and even though the computer had been fully charged the computer battery LEDs were not lighting up at all. So for a $15 ring light, after troubleshooting the computer, I had to buy a new computer battery and replace it at a cost of $90. Not happy about this at all, especially since I wasn't sure a new laptop battery would do the trick (it could had fried the logic board or any supporting circuit boards) and I could have had a totally dead laptop. After attending a social media Bootcamp for work I was on a quest to find a ring light to use with my iPhone. I came across the Meifigno Selfie Phone Camera Ring Light and the price was so reasonable I decided to give it a shot. I have deep-set eyes, so shadows look like dark circles on my face in photos. The photo shows the difference between the standard snapshot and the one with the Meifigno Selfie Phone Camera Ring Light on low light (!) Both are done with my iPhone. The photo is NOT filtered. I was stunned. It really makes a difference. (full disclosure - I did try to match the pose - but I have the camera slightly higher in the one with the selfie light & the portrait mode which caused the background to be out of focus) I have not tried this is group shots yet.
