I used this product for my makeup in a production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. It stayed on well, though I wish I'd had some cold cream to remove it. I used my fingers mostly to spread and apply, and used a bronzer brush instead of the puff pad to apply the setting powder. I like the look of it in the container - very nice and easy to use. Looks really nice and professional and re-packs into the box really easily. Warning - (this is not the products fault, it happens with all stage makeup, but) This Will Make You Break Out. Wash your face really well before and after using! But pimples are unavoidable! I liked the variety of foundation shades, and found that all four of them would work in a pinch. And the two pink options were nice, I didn't use the darker one since my character needed to be boyish, but will be a perfect lip color ofr a more feminine character. (The pink drops on my cheeks are paint, not from the kit - same goes for the green eyebrows) You have to be careful with the white not to smudge a bunch of other colors into it. I haven't tried the stipple sponge, but the brush and eyebrow pencil both work well. If I had a complaint it would be that after a while the pink I put on my eyelids got smudged and wrinkled. But overall this kit worked really well and I will still have enough for another production next season! (after three dress rehearsals and two performances) ... show more

Exactly as advertised. Arrived early. The right color for me and a better price than the Ben Nye student kits go for. Student kits are a good size for on the go or if you aren't sure about the colors you need and just want to try it out. Would buy again and will certainly recommend.

Plenty of makeup for 8 classes and beyond. Good tools, though I recommend buying a short wedge brush, also. There is a variety of tones in the package with nice size pots. Excellent. I used Ben Nye's kit previously. This has more tones and more makeup. Highly recommend.

I purchased a Mehron Mini-pro Theatrical Make-up Kit for use during our community theater production of William Shakespeare’s “Macbeth.” This is a very satisfactory stage make-up kit that worked effectively throughout our show’s run. It contains a good selection of base colors. The base was easy to apply and stood up well under hot stage lights, without ever breaking down, melting, or running. The only downside: the kit is too small, with the amount of flesh tone base barely adequate to cover all our dress rehearsals and performances. The kit arrived quickly (thankfully because I had a rushed class to teach). I used this to teach a basic makeup effects class. I like the red in this palette more than the medium toned palette. I used the red on the bald cap for the first layer of flesh (the blood vessels). I brought that down past the bald cap to camouflage the seam. Then I added the color that matched the model's skin tone. These colors are very easy to mix together to match the exact desired color. After all the makeup was applied, I sprayed a sealant with shine so the makeup wouldn't look matte compared to her actual skin. ... show more

I am of Mediterranean heritage and the colors in the kit blended with my natural tones. I wound up buying a Mehron stick one shade darker than the foundation included in the kit. I still used the contour, cheek and lip colors, so all is well. The quality of the make up is very good, not heavy or greasy. Nice full coverage foundation for daily use. ... show more

Received in a timely manner, well packed. Had everything needed to apply. The makeup withstood heat of the lights, did not run or cake. I would suggest you to have a makeup sharpener on hand for pencils.

It is a box of different shades of makeup and blush and powder. I used it in play and it held up well. The instruction book included shows how to do aged makeup. I would have preferred a more general instruction booklet. The make up reminds me of the Ben Nye sets but it feels more greasy and is kind of hard to remove. Still a good value as long as it is for occasional use. I usually do not use foundation so may be a bit biased. Lol. ... show more
