  • Highest quality budget cables. Highly recommended for average and even above average quality sound systems.
Color: 6 Feet (Black)
These are high-quality cables which are also constructed properly. There are many more expensive cables being sold which have connectors held on by mechanical pressure, meaning crimped wire or a set screw. In contrast, these "budget" cables are soldered, which creates a more consistent electrical connection. Soldering also seals the point of electrical contact from direct contact with the oxygen in the air. This is a good thing because the quality of the electrical connection is just as important as the quality of the wire in transmitting a signal at the maximum possible accuracy. As mentioned by others a heavier gauge cable will have less signal loss due to the slight reduction in resistance. This can translate to small improvements in sound quality versus mediocre cables, particularly when you are using good quality equipment, source material, and speakers. Lower resistance can also carry more signal (a slight oversimplification for clarity.). Think of it like pumping water through pipes. Bigger pipes will allow more water to flow. However, having holes in the pipe will lose some of the water. By the same analogy, having soldered connectors on a reasonably heavy gauge wire helps to "plug the holes" that would otherwise allow some of the audio signal to escape (as heat and EMF.) So, using these cables would be a huge step above most of the terrible quality generic speaker wire you buy in spools. These are sealed and oxygen-free, so they will also maintain that improved signal integrity years longer than generic spooled wire. From that perspective, paying extra money for heavy, higher-quality cables is really a bargain over the long haul. These cables are an even better bargain than most due to their above average build quality and remarkably low price. The bottom line: Unless you have spent literally thousands of dollars on your playback equipment and thousands more buying higher-quality recordings, you will not hear a difference between these and much more expensive cables. In some cases, thanks to the higher-quality construction, these cables will actually sound better than more expensive cables. I highly recommend these for the vast majority of music and home theater sound systems. The exceptions would be truly high-end gear and horribly low-end gear. For the high end, it may actually make an audible difference to spend more money on cables. For the low end, you would be better served by spending your money on better equipment like a cleaner amplifier or better speakers. Regardless, buying higher-quality cables than these will cost you significantly more money for minimal (and mostly inaudible) gains on all but the most expensive equipment. For reference, I have nearly $10k invested in my equipment, yet I use these because due to the high-quality construction of these cables, I know they are fully capable of carrying the best quality signal that my system can reproduce. I hope you found this helpful. ... show more

  • If you have average or old speaker wire just hit the Buy It Now button.
Color: 6 Feet (Black)
Ok I admit it. When it comes to speaker wires I got lazy. The sound Gods should spank me because I have a very nice set-up in my digital editing studio. After buying my better half new bookshelf speakers and giving our son my 35 year-old KLH studio monitors, I bought a set of these for my wife's living room set up and removed the old speaker wires that were formerly connected to the KLH speakers and the new Yamo speakers, already very good went into another space. A very good space. I ordered another set for my studio system, which is a Melody ONIX SP3 tube amplifier, Cambridge CD player and McIntosh speakers. Two hours later after going through Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Peter Gabriel and Johnny A, when I came upstairs from the basement my wife said, "What the hell happened to you?" Something wonderful... ... show more

  • Good quality all-in-one solution for a reasonable price
Color: 6 Feet (Black)
I came across these cables while looking to replace some of my bare wire connections with banana plugs. I liked the idea of an all-in-one solution for my front left and right speakers, which have binding posts. After reading the reviews, and based on my positive experience with Mediabridge's digital coaxial cable, I decided to give these a try. Setup was simple, as they plugged in perfectly to my speakers and the back of my receiver. I'm impressed with the quality of the cable, and the sound is great. I think this is a cost-effective upgrade if you have speakers and a receiver that accept banana plug connections. ... show more

  • They're Not Cheap but These are The Ones
Color: 6 Feet (Black)
These hit the price / performance sweet spot for me. I bought 2X 25' cables for the rears and 4X 10' for the front (mains, bi-amped - at least that was the idea), and 1X 6' for the center. Plug and play of course and with no issues of any kind. They have a nice, quality feel to them, and 16AWG is, I think, again the sweet spot. Unfortunately for me, the Denon AVR-S760H from Costco cannot bi-amp speakers - the model above it can. Still, the Klipsch RP-8000F's sound very, very good single-amped in this configuration and the banana plugs are just so much better than bare wire if you're anywhere on the OCD spectrum. ... show more

  • Great speaker cables for the money
Color: 25 Feet (Black)
Needed longer runs (25') of speaker cables to add some rear channels to my existing 5.1.2 setup (for 7.1.2) in my man cave. Unfortunately the speaker cables had to be visible and exposed since there was no where to discretely run them in the room. So the cables would need to 'blend in' aesthetically in the room, but still deliver great performance for my Klipsch bookshelf speakers. These Mediabridge cables fit the bill perfectly. They have a nice black jacket on the outside, which looks ok running along the floor/wall. The cables are a medium thickness, and look like much more expensive cables. The banana plug are nice and firmly attached to the cables, and feel solid. As for sound, 16 gauge wires are perfect for surround/reach channel duty, and certainly make my Klipsch speakers sound great. Overall, great speaker cable for the money and highly recommended. ... show more

  • Good solution.
Color: 6 Feet (Black)
I recently purchased a new A-V receiver and added a pair of floor-standing speakers and now have a 9.2 channel system -- too many wires and connections. These wires, and the others I purchased, are part of my solution. My new wires are all banana plugs, different colors and lengths. The different colors enable me to easily find which connection on the receiver goes with which speaker. The differing lengths allow the speakers to be connected without trimming the wires to length or having excess wire rolled and tied at the speaker. ... show more

  • Excellent cable, just one caution
Color: 6 Feet (Black)
Just love these cables. My home has wired speakers and i needed strong fit and good quality connectors. Cable quality and connectors are excellent. I would highly recommend the cables. Just one caution- The cable do not bend much as the cable is soldered to connector and the jacket is thick. Using these cables may extend the depth needed to fit your receiver in the TV cabinet. ... show more
