This breast pump is amazing. My colleague gave me her Willow pump and it was really large and I didn’t like the vibration of the motor on my chest. I wanted a wearable pump that worked like a plug in pump. I saw that this pump had great reviews, so I bit the bullet and bought it. It honestly does just as good of a job if not better as my plug in pump. It is so much more convenient and comfortable. I’m able to pump way more milk with it since it works great and I can move around and care for my son while pumping. I just would not be able to pump during the day if not for this pump, especially since my son is awake more. I put him in his bouncer in the kitchen and I pump while making breakfast, lunch, cleaning the kitchen, etc. He is entertained and I get to pump while doing other chores. I’m going to buy a second one when I go back to work, so that I can have one at my office and at home. I bought a belt on Amazon to hold the motor that someone else in the reviews recommended (they provided the link). I would definitely get that as well so that the motor is not swinging around while you move. Highly recommend this product. ... show more

Love this pump!!! I am a traveling, working mom. That exclusively pumps going on 9 months now. This pump along with the medela pump in style are a winning combination. I would not recommend the freestyle pump as a solo pump. It’s best for those pumping session on the move. It’s reliable and powerful but it’s just not as powerful as the plug in wall units- and it’s not meant to be. As an example, I usually pump 20 minutes whereas the pump in style I go for 15 minutes- not a huge difference but definitely a difference. I love how easy it is to clean. There are only three pieces!!! This was a big selling point for me because I am usually away from home cleaning my pump in a hotel, airport or public bathroom. If you are trying to decide between this and a unit that doesn’t have tubes. I was also worried about the tubes, but in practice I have never had an issue. And it’s not a deal breaker for me. I also love that this unit allows for me to do light house chores and desk work while pumping. You can really do anything that doesn’t require you to bend over 90 degrees or jump around. For me this was a huge deal mentally since I exclusively pump. I wouldn’t be able to keep at it without the freedom this pump provides. I also highly recommend the book milk memos for any moms buying this unit for the return to the office from leave. The pump and book should really be sold together as they both helped me immensely! Final point- medela is a fantastic company. After 6 months of daily use my pump died. Honestly I don’t think this indicates the pump is poorly engineered. But either way there is a 1 year warranty on the pump for these type of situations. The medela customer support was very knowledgeable and helpful. I have had this pump for a total of one day and yes, I am already giving it 5 stars. I had the Medela Pump In Style and while it is a nice pump, I loathed it. Having to stand still and use both hands to hold the pumps for 30 minutes every two hours drove me bonkers. We have newborns, how are we supposed to be Mommy Mode: Offline that often? Not to mention it added an extra 30 minutes to the nighttime routine. I did not like that I was starting to hate pumping. While this pump is expensive, it was worth it for me. Being able to handle my baby when needed was important. These are discreet if you're wearing a loose fitting shirt. I pump in the car, I pump while changing my baby, I pump while feeding my baby, I pump while taking a dump. During the night I slap these on and feed the babe. By the time he's done eating, changed and soothed I'm done pumping and can go back to bed. The only negatives I've noticed: Dumping the cups has a learning curve as milk can leak back out of the flange area. I make sure I'm holding it with that area facing up and dump it quickly into the storage bottles. Right now I'm using the lanyard to hold the device. It's touchscreen so it often bumps against my leg and presses buttons. You can just carry the device but I ordered a belt bag to hold it and store it. Love this pump and the freedom it brings me. I haven’t found a pumping bra that fits and works properly so being able to use this hands-free in my regular bra is awesome. LOVE that there are only three parts per collection cup - makes it really easy to clean and assemble! I know lactation consultants say that wearable pumps risk not emptying the breast and that they will never compare to a hospital-grade one, but honestly I haven’t really noticed a difference in how much milk I pump and I don’t get any more clogged ducts with this than my spectra. It’s got good suction and despite only coming in two sizes, I think the nipple openings are super accommodating of different sizes so you don’t have to buy separate flanges Cons: The buttons are kind of touch-sensitive so they are easy to bump but when I’m careful I don’t really have an issue with it It’s pretty easy to spill the milk when transferring to a bottle. They sit up fairly well, but they’re easy to knock over. Also, the opening for the nipple has a hole in which the milk flows into the collector and you’ve gotta be careful when you’re pouring because it can flow back out through the nipple opening and spill.
