I did iron before putting it on the table but it really wouldn't have been necessary if I had taken it out of the dryer sooner. I didn't get any stains on it, yet, so I am unable to speak to stain resistant. Stitching for hem looks nice and material is good quality. It is really a basic go- to cloth. Had these for half a year now. I washed them on cold the first couple times because some reviews complained about them shrinking irregularly. I washed them on hot recently (by accident) and still no problems. The faux linen look makes them look more natural and expensive than typical solid polyester.
