  • In my family, this is the standard coffee to always have on hand to make the most people happy
If you're a coffee drinker, you've likely had Maxwell House at least a handful of times. There's nothing special about this coffee. However, it is a coffee that appeals to almost anyone if you often have family and friends over. I only buy this coffee to have on hand for family and friends. The overall taste, if brewed properly, is neither bitter, nor sweet; strong, nor weak; complex, nor simple. It's literally a coffee with very few discernible unique traits, outside of the fact that most people at the very least, find it acceptable. Perhaps, my views are clouded because I'm very much a coffee snob. With all that said, I have no issue recommending this coffee as something to have on hand, it's just not a personal favorite I'd choose as my go to coffee. 4 stars for consistency and mass appeal Cheers! ... show more

  • Great value for an average coffee
Used to spend so much money on kcups but I've gone back to basics with this one and I consistently get a solid cup of coffee for so much better value than any alternatives, kcups or bags of coffee. Definitely recommend for a standard go to.

  • Pretty Good Coffee!
I love me some Maxwell House! There is something about Maxwell House that is so different from some of the other brands out there. I can't say enough good things about how it tastes and smells. My #1 pick in the morning.

  • Undrinkable for a non-coffee snob / 'Are Maxwell House and Folgers coffees making people sick?'
I wrote this review on Amazon. I am not a coffee snob, but I enjoy good smooth coffee with cream & sugar. I was wanting to try a major brand name that advertised as being smooth and was a good price. Normally opening a fresh can of coffee is a joy, regardless of the brand, but upon opening this it was not pleasant. Hoping brewing would be better, I brewed like I do all my other coffee. Bad from the first drop. After masking with cream & sugar I was able to down it, but it was not an enjoyable experience. The 2nd day I brewed even more carefully and could not get past 1/2 a cup before I had to stop, The coffee aroma in the car was putrid. Absolutely undrinkable, and not pleasant to smell. Thinking I wasn't alone, I googled 'Why does Maxwell House coffee taste so bad' and it brought me to the 'Coffee Detective' website with the title 'Are Maxwell House and Folgers coffees making people sick?' with so many very recent reviews with the same thing I experienced. While I don't know what it tasted like in the past, for long time customers clearly something has changed. As a test, and to get possibly drinkable coffee, I went to my local Stater Brothers and bought their house brand 100% Colombian Arabica ground coffee. Made it like I do all my other coffee, and its coffee. Nothing fancy, nothing overtly bad, but at least it is drinkable coffee. Not like this Maxwell House swill. I'll stick with a known good brand like Don Francisco. This Maxwell House tub is going in the trash. ... show more

  • Best coffee around!
If you are not into strong designer coffee or want a break from strong coffee, the master blend is what you want to drink. Very flavorful! I have been drinking this blend since a teenager which was a long time ago!

  • Good to the last drop
I like this coffee and have been drinking it for more years than I like to think about. (A hint if this shows up in the title and if you don't know what I am referring to, you are too young ;))

  • Surprisingly Good
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed Maxwell House coffee. I don't believe I've ever even tried it before. I ordered this because it was on sale during Prime Day, and I thought, "Why not?"I brewed it on the single brew setting: 1 tablespoon for about 16 oz of water. It was perfect. I really, really like this coffee, and I would certainly buy it again. ... show more

  • Made us sick this order
I subscribed to this for the last several months with no problems and then starting about a month ago my partner and I Have both been sick with GI stuff for weeks. It would come and go and couldn’t identify why. Finally today I drank some without creamer and it was like drinking a chemically rancid concoction. So we are done with that. It’s terrible. I have two other canisters but I’m not sure I’m even gonna risk it. ... show more
