Got this bunked for my 6 year old and she loves it. This bed is very sturdy and simply beautiful. I love the coloring, design, and I'm obsessed with the fact that the slide and ladder are interchangeable so i can set it up to best suit our space. I will admit set up was slightly difficult as this thing comes 100% disassembled. It took me about 3.5 hours by myself to completely put it together using only the tools provided with the bed and a phillips screw driver. The directions were easy to read and direct so it wasnt really hard to figure out just time consuming. All in all this bed is perfect and totally worth the price. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. So let me start by saying this was a nightmare to install. It took us hoursssss, every single individual piece of wood was separated and there were 248 parts to install. However, that is only for the initial installation, if you ever want to move and take it apart you will not need to take all the parts and remove them. You’ll only really need to disconnect the two head boards, the slide, and the ladder once it’s assembled. Putting it all together for the first time is the hardest part, there were so many different types of screws and no words in the manual but I will say once you understood the way it was explaining to install the parts it became much easier to do. Installing it was not difficult but just time consuming and my husband and I both worked together to install it bc you will need two people to hold one side of the headboard up while the other screws it in place, none of it is heavy while you’re installing it but the box itself with everything inside of it weighs a couple hundred lbs so make sure you have 2 VERY strong men to help you carry and lift it into the room you’re installing it. My husband and I used absolutely all of our strength to get it up our stairs into our kids room and I’ll be honest it was a workout and we had to sit and drink some water after lol. Once it’s completed though the quality is very good and it’s not flimsy whatsoever (if you screwed the screws in securely). We did not attach the screws on the back for the slide or the ladder as we enjoyed being able to remove them when we needed to vacuum the floor and even without the screws on the back there are safety grips to hold them in place as well as the hooked attachments which keep them VERY secure in place during play and use. Ladder and slide do not wobble and after monitoring my 2 and 4 yr old for 20 minutes to ensure all manner of play is safe I can say from an overprotective mothers standpoint it has my seal of approval. My only concern is the metal rod used for stability on the under side I’d suggest the manufacturer perhaps have it where it’s concealed within another piece of wood or something to protect little ones heads. I will attach video and pictures of what I mean. I also want to add I love the sturdiness and quality of the slide, it’s strong and I had my doubts but I’ve watched my kids run up the slide and there’s no cracking or change in quality of the slide it’s strong and supports the weight of my kids. I ordered this bunk bed for my two daughters (ages 3 and 1.5 years old) but my youngest won't be sleeping on it just yet, as she's still in her crib until she turns 2 in September. Anyways, the shipment arrived quickly... But I received the wrong item at first (some type of exercise equipment instead of the bunk beds). That was frustrating, but the return process was very simple (UPS actually came right to my house and picked up the item received in error) and then the correct shipment arrived a few days later. My husband put it together with minimal help from me (he just needed me to hold some pieces steady). He said the directions were a little confusing in some places because there were no written instructions, just pictures. He's a welder/custom fabricator by trade (so he's used to building things, working with tools, etc.) And he used an impact drill with an Hexagon/Allen wrench drill bit set to put this together, but it still took him almost 3 hours all together. The beds are VERY sturdy; no wiggling or wobbling at all when I push on it, no creaking or cracking sounds when climbed on, etc. And I think the beds are very nice looking. I like that all of the bolts are painted white (to match the bed) so they are less noticeable. We had no damaged or missing pieces. There was no chemical smell at all, as some lady in another review claimed (she must be a "super nose" or just likes to complain). I also like that the ladder is easily removeable. You can bolt it down, but you don't have to (I remove mine during the day because my girls are still very young and I don't want them playing around in the top bunk during the day). The ladder slips over the side board with two brackets attached to top of ladder, which has little pads inside to keep from scratching the wood and also makes the ladder fit VERY tightly, even without being screwed in.
