  • great idea, very pretty, not the greatest for a newborn like other designs.
The idea of a wubbanub is genius. My daughter got a soothie in the hospital and liked it but I hated those big ol' things. I tried 2 other pacis but she wouldn't have it. We tried to just go without but that was torture to us all. She has a very high need to suck. Since she's breastfed too, that ended up meaning that I was nursing her for 2/3+ of the day. I finally went back to the soothie and it saved all of our sanity. But, she could not hold it in her mouth for anything like she could the others so we had to hold it for her for pretty much the whole time or constantly go searching for it while she screamed after it would fall away. So, we decided to get a wubbanub- greatest idea ever! I ordered this one for her because it was so pretty with it's hot pink body and colored detail. But, before it came in, I also found the regular giraffe one at a yardsale. It was awesome. I immediately loved it but it wasn't as pretty so I couldn't wait for this one to come in... But, then when I got this one... not so great. 1. it does not look like a giraffe. It's neck is short. I'd guess that it was a cow or horse if I didn't know. 2. It's not as floppy and long as the other one, which makes all the difference in it working correctly. The other giraffe sits perfectly on my daughters chest or beside her and holds the pacifier right in place. At 10 weeks old, she's now starting to try to put the paci back in her mouth if it falls out. She's still not that good at it but since the other giraffe's head is floppy she can usually shove it around with her hands and root her mouth around some and get it, because it never goes far. But, with this one, the whole thing will either fall away, or if it stays, she still can't get it back because it's not as flexible as the other. Granted, I will say that once she's older and can grasp better, this one will probably be just as good as any since it'll still serve the purpose of finding that paci easily in the middle of the night or keeping it from bouncing around the whole car or house when it drops. But, right now, for a newborn, it only gets used when the other one is in the wash. I'm still glad we have it for a backup/ rotation though. ... show more

  • Cute and Cuddly, with one flaw...
Style: Afrique Lion
I absolutely mostly love this pacifier! Mostly because my little guy is not really digging the avent pacifiers anymore, and the pacifier is not removable so you can’t use a different pacifier with it. It is hands down the cutest thing and I’ve been trying not to switch pacifier brands because of it but they’re just not cutting it. Since I’m handy, I’m gonna try and figure out how to remove it and put a different clip on it somehow. Fingers crossed! ... show more

  • Sanity saver!
While this was expensive, I couldn't get over how cute it was. I purchased the Jasmine Wubbanub. The one I received is not how it's pictured, but that's no big deal (maybe they redesigned it and didn't update the photo?) It's a sanity saver. My daughter is 2 months old and I waited about a month before giving in and trying to give her a pacifier. She's started having a lot of trouble with gas and painful farts in the evening and cries off and on for over an hour. Giving her a bottle soothed her, but I felt she was eating too much because of this. I had received a MAM pacifier in a sample bag, but she didn't like it. She took it once, maybe twice. I noticed she would happily suck on an empty bottle but not this MAM pacifier, so I thought maybe it was the shape. It's only been one day, but so far she's taken the Wubbanub multiple times. It was a little difficult at first, but at the end of the day she fell asleep with it. 'm so happy I gave this pacifier a shot! ...Let's just hope she still likes it tomorrow. =P ... show more

  • The size is great for little hands!
After a recommendation, I bought 3 wubbanubs. The caterpillar, the zebra and the pink giraffe. The giraffe and zebra have the same basic shape but the giraffe is slightly larger so it is even easier for my 4 month old to hold onto. She puts one hand up by the pacifier and wraps the other arm around the body like it is her little buddy. It also makes it easy for her to put the pacifier back into her mouth if she wriggles and it falls out. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because the Soothie pacifier is glued in so it can't be changed and the size of the pacifier is 0-3 months. My daughter is a preemie with an adjusted age of 7 weeks so physically she can use it for another month or so before I should be putting her on larger pacifiers and then eventually the orthodontic shaped ones. So it is a shame that she can't use it as she grows because it has become like a little friend to her. ... show more

  • My daughter's first bestie: 3 different purchases, would still buy/recommend!
Oh sweet little Mary Meyer giraffe, you have no idea the impact you've made on my family. You were our second daughter's first pacifier. You lasted nearly a year without issues until we lost you at a baseball game. Frantically, I ordered another "pink wubbs" for our little one on the way home. At nearly 2 years of age, the total number of these specific Wubbanubs we've had for our daughter is: 3. The most recent purchase was also the final casualty. With all of her teeth, she chewed a hole into the pacifier and we snipped it off. We've since switched to orthodontic pacifiers that still fit over the giraffe's head and allow our girl to still have the comfort and companionship of her Wubby. Since making the switch to orthodontic pacifiers, I have noticed my daughter's teeth shifted into a more balanced smile. I recommend this product, but it is not any harder to lose, find, or misplace, than typical pacifiers. ... show more
