  • A perfect remake! Lots of puzzle-platformer fun!
If you like mild puzzles, platforming games, or casual speedrunning, you should try this game out! As of right now, there is a demo on the Nintendo eShop that will show you what the game is like. One of the things that they added that I love is the multiplayer. Sadly, it is local-play only, so you CANNOT play online. You can only play in the same room using local play. This game works with 1 or 2 players. There are over a hundred levels in this game, and more worlds than you think! There are additional challenges for each level, such as completing it in a certain amount of time. Overall, I would say this game is of moderate difficulty. It’s good for any age in my opinion, but especially people who love Mario games! It makes a great gift because this is a title that someone is less likely to own, since it’s a spin-off game. It’s also a GBA game, so while it has modern graphics, the gameplay is blatantly 2000s. I’d rate it a 10/10. It’s a fun game to beat or complete 100%. It took me 20 hours to collect/complete everything, but a lot of that time was spent working on all of the Time Attacks. Do NOT use an NSO game voucher on this! Because it is $50, you will miss out on saving $10 because this is not a full-priced game. ... show more

  • Mario Vs the world
I’m honestly shocked at the review bombing people are doing on gaming sites saying the games price point is too high for the amount of content, Let me say this I personally think $10 cheaper would’ve been the sweet spot but once you “beat” the game the second part of the game has just started! You get 8 more worlds to discover, You unlock time trials for each level, And you get 3 expert level worlds to conquer. That’s 136 levels in total! For those that don’t know this is a REMAKE. It’s not a brand new property it’s a game boy advance title that was made for this generation for those who are either fans of the original game and no longer own a game boy advance, Or for those who wish to try it for the first time. I got this for my wife as I beat mine back in the day, And she’s been having such an amazing time. She’s never been able to get through Mario before as she’s not good at platformers but she LOVES puzzle games, And this game makes her think, struggle a bit at platforming and thought she wouldn’t be able to do it, But by the end of the first 8 worlds she was like bring it on! This is the crowd the game was meant for! You don’t like the price point at $50? Wait for a sale or better yet don’t get it at all and wait for the eventual sequel! This game has co-op, Beautiful graphics, Well thought out puzzles, And all the love and care Nintendo always supplies to its first party products. So if this sounds like you and you’re on the mend or aren’t sure if the game is for you I’ll put it like this: Do you enjoy color switch puzzles where lanes open and close depending on where you step? Are you a fan of the lemmings series and would like to guide mini Mario’s every now and then to their destination safely? Are you a perfectionist and need to see that gold perfect star in order to feel fulfilled that you truly cleared a level? Do you enjoy Mario or have always wanted to play a Mario title that doesn’t require precise platforming for long stretches? If you said to any or all then this game is for you, Simply put it’s wonderful done. Would’ve been perfect at $40 but for a launch game with zero bugs or glitches and no dlc just everything in one package, It’s a winner. 8.5/10 stars! Hope this helps! ... show more

  • Great Remake
I really liked the fact that they revamped the whole game and added additional worlds and levels but I do have a small complaint. One of the things I didn’t like was the fact that the game is way too easy, I haven’t beaten the game yet but it only took me like 2 hours or less to get to world 5 and there was only some parts of the game that were very annoying that I hated but otherwise, I’d say that everything else about the game was very good, I liked the music in the hub menu, the graphics, and the controls for the game were alright, I just wish that they made the game a bit more harder because it’s one of those games that you’ll get bored quick and doesn’t really bring any challenge to it! ... show more

  • Really fun puzzle type game
We have a lot of fun playing this game! Takes thinking and strategy to complete the levels.

  • FUN for casual gamers like me
This game is GREAT for people like me who like puzzles with ACTION. Casual mode lets you plan for short periods or longer periods with no real fear of dying - just having fun. Multiple "worlds" with multiple levels - each with two parts. This keeps it interesting and you can stop any time and come back without having to start over. After I got pretty good, I wanted to start over anyway - that was lots of fun too, because I could get a perfect score on all the levels I had already finished. Recommended! ... show more

  • A really great puzzle-platformer!
The media could not be loaded. To anyone wondering what Mario vs Donkey Kong is, it's a remake of a puzzle-platforming game that was released for the Game Boy Advance many years ago. You control Mario through cleverly designed courses and try to get all the collectibles while avoiding hazards to reach the goal. Some levels stages also require Mario to lead toys to a certain point, or even battle Donkey Kong using other items. It has a REALLY good soundtrack and really good looking graphics/cutscenes. It also features extra levels not seen in the original GBA title. Also new is multiplayer -- one person can control Mario, the second person can control Toad. I think it's really good for the most part -- though the price is quite steep in my opinion. I think this game should be at most $39.99, it's a really good game minus that. I would highly recommend getting it during a sale if you're skeptical, but Mario vs DK is solid. ... show more
