This mug is very pretty and it holds a nice big cup of coffee. The glass does fog up a bit when using for hot liquids. I am not sure if this is normal for glass mugs. Also, because the mug is not double walled, it feels fragile. I am scared to leave it lingering in my sink after I use it because I don’t want it to break. I was also scared to try it in the microwave because the glass is thin. It does hold the heat as well as my other mugs. It is a good mug but not sure how it long it will hold up without breaking or chipping. ... show more

I used them for hot tea and they worked as expected. These are microwaveable. These mugs attractive looking. A negative is that the glass is very lightweight. If these were displayed in a store, I likely would pass on them based on the fragility of the glass.

Attractive design, good size, and the multicolor pack of glasses with different color handles does make it easy to differentiate cups. Items were received without damage despite being shipped in a plastic bag. Borosilicate glass is lighter than regular glass because the elements comprising it are lighter. The addition of boron (one of those lighter elements) provides the necessary resistance to thermal shock (exposure to sudden temperature change) that you need for hot beverages. IIRC, borosilicate can tolerate a bit more than 300 degree F temperature swing, while soda-lime, only about 100 degrees. You can use additives and tempering to enhance soda-lime performance. Boron also increases the hardness of the glass over soad-lime. ... show more
