Adam Savage did an episode on a similar small parts organizer from a German manufacturer that he really loved. I figured if it was good enough for Adam Savage it was good enough for me, and I was a keystroke away from buying one, at over $100, when I came to my senses. I found this parts organizer which is very similar to it’s German counterpart, and it was TWO organizers for under $30. Hard to beat that. Things that could be improved: The mechanism that locks the two boxes together for easy storage could be stronger. It just feels a little flimsy. The catches that release the lids on the boxes are just kind of strange. Finally, the dividers in the front section of the box are permanently attached. It would have been better if all the dividers could be removed and placed wherever I wanted. For the price, though, these boxes are pretty decent. If I were using them for work and throwing them in and out of a truck or van then I would get the $100 German box. But for around the house and occasional use they’re fine. ... show more

    • WORKS WITH HDX ORGANIZERS
I started getting the HDX brand versions of this organizer box from HD at the tail end of their production and availability. loved the size and modularity of said HDX version and wanted more. these lock in perfectly with what i already have and seem to be made of the same type of plastic. cons - in the two pack i received, one of the lids came shattered in one corner. additionally, these are a bit expensive for what they are. perfect of shop/lab setting but i would hesitate to take these on an "away mission." ... show more

Overall they work for me and are holding up. The only issue is they don't stay connected together that good for me - so I carry 2 pieces instead of 1 -(two connectected pieces) .

I’m an electrician and use these for all my fitting and small parts I need daily, it has held up great sliding around the back of my pickup truck all the time. Definitely durable and great that you can make the compartments bigger. Love it so far

Plan on returning damaged boxes. They are decent boxes for the money if they make it through the shipping. If they get smashed or shocked in the wrong direction the crack and loose chunks here and there.

    • Pkg is terrible
This product is great problem with packaging. The top unit pkg is cracked in 1 or 2 ends. I have had to super glue cracks every time. I think when they vac pack units they crack them. Other than that there very sturdy love them have two doz of them.

    • Great for organizing, with they were more configurable
I switched to using these organizers for bolts, screws, electronic parts, etc. They're really great and enjoy the ability to lock them together. The one minor drawback is they are not fully configurable. If you're trying to store something longer than 5" it can be challenging.
