I recommend this if you are seeking a magnification mirror but find rhe 10X to be a little too powerful. The 7x magnifies just the right amount for my middle aged eyes. This mirror has been really terrific. I particularly like the mechanism that locks the suction cup to the mirror because usually suction cups give out after a while. The shape and lighting are great, as is the ability to twist and turn it to various angles and heights. I also like that it’s 7x, rather than 10x magnification. Not as distorting. I haven't added batteries, so can't comment on the light (my bathroom and vanity are both lit with super bright LED so I don't need extra light. I read a lot of the reviews, I didn't believe they were true, but I really hoped they were, and they are! As far as the mirror itself. I can perfectly see both of my eyes and almost all of my face with none of the weird warping that other magnifying mirrors have that are of a smaller size. It also allows me to see while still giving me room to use my brushes and liners without having to create some awkward angle to use them and see, which makes it 6 stars for me! I currently have this on my bathroom mirror because I have an embarrassing amount of clothes to clean off my vanity during lazy laundry days where I just stacked stuff and just haven't gotten around to putting them away (I hang everything but socks and undergarments). It was easy to mount, so easy I was hesitant to let it go because I didn't think I had it connected! I travel often for work and as long as I wrap a shirt around this and put it in the middle of the clothing side of my suitcase, it should travel well. I do wish it came with a traveling case, but I can make it work with little fuss or inconvenience. Not all hotels have the magnifying mirrors, so it'll be nice to be able to bring this along with me and not have to struggle to put my make up on. Highly recommend! I was disappointed because the mirror sticks out so much from the wall. It’s hard to maneuver the flexible hose and I found the mirror distorting . Maybe in a different setup it would have worked.
