We got these mostly for the toddler but our 9yo and both of us parents have a blast building with these too! These are the most played with of all the toys and we actually bought this as a second pack to whatever set my mom got for the boys the Christmas before so that bigger and more elaborate things could be built. These are my grandson's favorite toy. So much so that he has to take them everywhere and accidentally loses them. These are good bang for your buck and I have repurchased them for him several times now. They stand up to his rough housing, encourage creativity and spacial awareness. I read reviews saying the magnets were weak. I didn't think they were weak at all. In fact I had trouble stacking bc they would drop and stick together.
