Since the hitch on our cart for our Cub Cadet is C-shaped and wraps both above and below the hitch plate on our Cub Cadet, the very strong magnet of this hitch pin is more than sufficient to hold it in place without the clip. If I am moving our cart around by hand using this hitch pin as a handle, then I do need to add the clip as there is no “stop” that affixing to the mower plate provides. ... show more

This is great! You do not have to use the clip. The magnet is very strong but I will say we are only hauling 2 heavy trash cans down a steep driveway to the street. Love it though, very convenient!
