First, the good: these are a pretty design and look great on my bed, which is why I bought them. Now for the rest. If you are used to sleeping on the softness of Egyptian cotton sheets, you're going to hate these. However, softness is not high up on my list of why I buy sheets so I'm happy enough. I believe the fitted sheet said it was for 12" pockets. This is a stretch. I was able to make the bottom sheet fit, just barely and I'm not sure if it will stay on the bed after a night's sleep. One reviewer said that the top sheet was really short. I think they may have had it on sideways, which would have been easy to do because the pattern of the fitted sheet is vertical while the top sheet is horizontal. Pretty confusing making the bed until you figure that out. In the description, one place said "pillowcases" and another said "shams". You get shams, and they are for really small flat pillows. If the pillows you intend to put in the shams are more than small and flat, it's unlikely you'll be able to get them to fit, but I did after much maneuvering and they look fine, although I'll only use them for decoration as I don't want to go through that struggle everytime I wash my linens. So you probably want to buy a set of pillowcases to use for sleeping. So bottom line, if the fitted sheet stays on the bed, I'm happy enough with this purchase. ... show more
