Like I needed one more thing on my countertop! But it's coffee, so I'll make it work out. This is first product of it's type that I've used. I've seen it offered in coffee shops and thought that slower drip process must create a nice coffee. So, I've tried and I love it. Just follow the instructions, and get the filters at the same time or pick some up at your grocery store. If you're like me, you'll want to try it out right away. I enjoy a dark roast and this really improved the flavor of my usual brand of coffee. The only thing that concerns me is the beaker is made of pretty thin glass. I'm wondering if thicker glass would also help to keep the brew hot as I make enough for two cups. Overall, I'm really happy to have found this. ... show more

The Maestri House Pour Over Coffee Maker provides the perfect cup of coffee with its magnetic coffee dripper and 600ML carafe. My wife loves flavored coffee and I like super strong coffee that will grow hair on Marylin Monroe's chest. We can use the supplied carafe or put our huge morning mugs straight under the filter. The flavor comes from the coffee and the quality of the filter. The grooved interior of the filter cone ensures the capillary action draws every last bit of coffee through the grounds. The magnetic coffee dripper is a clever touch, ensuring stability and precision during the pour-over process. I love this! It works exceptionally well, and it has the classic "Atomic-Space Age" look about it that gives it a unique flair. It is very simple to use and to clean. I particularly appreciate the embedded mat in the bottom to hold the carafe securely in place, and to cope with the odd drips and spills.     • It's nice, but the glass is super thin
Everything about this is built really well, except the glass. I'll get into the glass at the end of this, so stick with me. The stand is real heavy and overbuilt if you ask me, but that makes it super stable. The rubber mat on the bottom is a nice touch. The rubber that holds the metal cone on the stand keeps it stable too. The cone works great with #4 coffee filters (I've got a mess of them). They're a bit big but they still fit. I actually use it a lot of times without the stand because I weigh my water as I add it. The cone fits nicely right in the top of the glass. The glass though. It's SUPER thin. I've had a Chemex knock-off that was slightly thicker than this break just from setting it on the counter wrong. I'm just waiting for this thing to shatter on me for no reason. This would be a great unit if that glass wasn't so thin. ... show more

    • A worthy pour over
It's a very aesthetically simple pour over coffee maker. I like everything about it! First, the glass pot is made from borosilicate glass, which is thin and withstands freezing and very high temperatures and the thinness of the glass helps it to withstand more extreme temperature changes. This is the best type of glass to get. If you have a large coffee warmer pad, this can be put on it to keep the coffee warm but it's best to not let the coffee sit too long. It's just not as good as fresh made. The silicone mat under the pot helps to insulate it and keep the coffee from cooling as quickly from the bottom. It also keeps the pot from sliding around. The metal, magnetic funnel is great. The shape of it and how it sits above the pot, rather than being part of the pot, is great. (And, personally, I've found that the natural filter papers make better tasting coffee than bleached papers.) ... show more

The metal parts are very sturdy, and the magnetic top is strong enough that the top doesn't topple over. My concern is with the glass pot itself. The glass is thin. It is most definitely not tempered glass, and I would not recommend this glass to be put into a dishwasher. Definitely hand wash the pitcher. A second recommendation, wet the paper filter prior to putting your grounds in it. This will help remove any paper filaments from the paper. Everything is easy to clean. The only reason I do not think this will last long is the glass pitcher. It just feels so thin and delicate. I'm sure if I were to accidentally drop it onto my carpet, this pitcher will break. ... show more
