I need sweats with insulation bc I'm thin and the wind plus the cold hurts my body. I usually wear thermal pants under my sweats. With these I didn't have to. I didn't want to pull them off, they get the job done it's low 20's and that's beyond cold to me personally. Length kept my ankles warm 5'9 132lbs medium fit loose like I like them. ... show more

I'm a short, heavyset woman who can't trust women's pants to fit me right. Men's pants are normally much roomier - I'm outside a lot doing barn chores, on the tractor, or moving snow, so I want something that will keep me warm but allow me to climb, bend, and move freely. These pants are definitely designed for men, because the XL fit but I couldn't zip the pockets up, and the 2XL I can barely zip the pockets up; there's not much room for wide hips. As previously mentioned, the pockets are kind of a joke since they're so small, but I appreciate that they have the same lining on them. I've purchased lined outdoor pants and the pockets were just thin polyester, and anything you put in your pocket pretty much is freezing cold against your skin. I love the drawstring waist, which will allow me more freedom to cinch or loosen the waistband. The length is great for a short person, probably not so great for a long legged person. I'll keep them, but keep looking for a looser fit pair with more to offer as far as pockets. ... show more
